It's in a very busy area, but the restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate many guests. Easy to get to, with friendly servers and that classic New York atmosphere I was looking for. The prices were very reasonable, especially given the touristy location. Also comfortable for solo visitors. Loved it.
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. There was very little atmosphere. TVs we're on and, as the restaurant only had a few customers, the waiters gathered next to them to watch. The food was good - tasty and a good portion. Competitively prices against other NY diners. We chose here as we wanted the full 'American diner' experience, however, we had the most miserable waiter ever! In the end it was quite comical as he barely spoke, never smiled and walked at a snails pace across the restaurant.
Wonderful ambient and food! Really big portions! You need to save some space for the dessert, amazing Key Lime Pie
Good variety on the menu. Husband had a decent omelette with hash browns, and I had a Cobb salad. Compared to other diners where I've eaten, the food was good, but not exceptional. Location is right by Penn Station and open 24/7, so excellent choice for train travelers.
Went to the city for a show and picked this diner because it was very close to MSG. The three of us got there early and were seated early. There was honestly only 1 table occupied other than us (4:30 pm) which we thought was a bad sign. Our server was very sweet and gave us time to view the menu. We ordered the Cuban, a burger and French toast. The serving size was very large ( I could only eat half the Cuban) and the food was tasty. The icing on the cake were the prices! The three of us ate for $60 total... in the city!! We would not hesitate to eat there again as it truly is a gem!!!
Food was very bad and overpriced for what it was. Nice looking diner, but very obviously a tourist trap.
We arrived early and was greeted thankfully they had plenty of spare tables. The portions sizes are very big so if you know you will struggle to eat it, best to share 😉 even with two adults we struggled to finish the pancakes. The pancakes were absolutely amazing, light and fluffy, tasted delicious. Service was good. Would recommend you visit at least once to experience it.
Lovely diner experience, as it brings me back to the old days. I got to introduce my younger co-workers to this style and they were amused.
We had a lovely breakfast at the Tick Tock Diner. Service was quick, the food was tasty, and we managed to dine at a time when it was relatively quiet.
Perfectly average food and service with a very extensive menu and New York prices. Our fish and chips and french toast were fine; the dry-as-hell Cuban sandwich would get laughed out of Miami.

Always a fun place. Classic diner with a great location. Right next to Penn station. Food is plentiful and tasty. Staff is friendly. A go to restaurant when you're on the go.
Went for 7am breakfast, easy to get a seat but still took a while to get served. Lack of personality or warmth from any of the servers we came across, which is a shame because I imagine most tourists will visit this to experience an “American diner”. Witnessed a senior staff member being rude and unhelpful to a French tourist who needed help with the subway, seemed a shame that he couldn't take a few seconds to help, when the place was half empty. Comfy seats, convenient location, food average.
Went for a quick family friendly lunch and wasn't really expecting much. Turned out to be surprisingly good. The place could probably use a sprucing up but otherwise has a classic diner vibe. Hard to find family friendly dining in the city so this is a good option because there are lots of options for kids.
The staff were rude, the whole place is dated and the food was mediocre. There was hardly anyone in there, yet they squashed us between two families. The sweet potato chips were hard but my omelette was ok. I would not recommend this place, there are plenty of other lovely restaurants about.
Such a shame. Food was rubbish, straight out of the freezer. If you expect something here, you most likely aren't going to get it. Such a shame because the prices would suggest you are getting a normal meal... however it was terrible. The service though was ok, our lovely waitress was very kind and considerate and the bar staff all had smiles. However, for a very expensive dinner, and still tipping 20% this place is not worth it.
