We left the restaurant really sad because we are big top chef fans and were really hoping to get good food - but sadly, we didn’t. Overall, I’d summarize it as: trying too hard, but didn’t taste good.

We ordered the nori fries, tuna tostada, pea salad, black crispy rice, prawns, skate, and steelhead trout ceviche (after we had to send back the skate), and also tried the complementary goldfish cracker. The best things we ate were the prawns and the pea salad, but the prawns were a tad overcooked and the pea salad were accompanied by very greasy and large croutons that were not nice to eat. The tuna tostada was one note and lacked acid (improved a bit once we asked for some lime to squeeze on it.). The nori fries and crispy black rice were okay - both were on the salty side, and the crispy black rice was not crispy, but very chewy (which I get black rice is but this was borderline unpleasant, like old rice that dried out). The goldfish cracker was too crumbly and buttery for our taste - we tried it but did not want to continue eating it. The skate was inedible due to how salty it was - we had to send it back. They offered to take the dish off the bill and asked if we wanted to try anything else, so we ordered the steelhead trout ceviche - but that was a mistake. It was not tasty - the combo of flavors was very weird and there was an unpleasant bitter note. Would have been better if they had just served the trout as sashimi.

The service was underwhelming and we were disappointed by the waiter’s reaction when we first commented on the saltiness of the dishes (prior to the skate). It was just a -
Oh I’m sorry you feel that way. It felt like he wasn’t trained properly with that response.

The only saving grace was that overall the meal wasn’t too expensive - less than $100 per person.

Food is really good, deco and environment is also really good. I can tell the service crew is trying really hard to be nice but here’s a few observations and I hope management will take action to help the staff

1. When we finish the raw seafood, we got fresh plates, which was always nice to have. However, after getting the plates for 2 mins, another server came by and gave us another set of plates. Not sure why but ok

2. 15-20mins wait between the seafood dish to hot appetizer getting served. And on top of that our food got served to the table next to us. Now, we got our wine taken care of by the server plus free dessert wines for me and my girlfriend because of this.

3. After we finish our hot appetizer, side dish and one main course. One server came wipe the table which was also a nice move. Then 2 minutes later another server came and wipe our table again and gave us dessert menu. Then one minute after another server came and ask us what we would like to have for dessert. We were so confused as we were still waiting for our second entree.

4. Wait time in between each section of the meal took really really long plus waiting to get the check. We handed to walk up to someone and hand over our credit card so we can get the check despite asking for the check once already

I think all can be easily addressed if there is some level of supervision and coordination. I would like to come back and try the food sometime but I really hope none of the above happens again. I’m still giving the restaurant a 4 stars for overall and recommend anyone to come try out the food

This new place from the late Chef Kent and Danny Garcia is nothing short of phenomenal. Went here for a friend birthday lunch and had the best service you can imagine. The staff were super nice and helped us with choosing what to eat. The menu may look the run of the mill, but it is far from. The lobster rolls and (upgrade) to nori fries was an excellent combination. The lobster roll itself was a chef kiss. chef Danny always incorporated the right balance of crunch, acid, salt, and sweet. I would recommend everything on the menu.
We got the goldfish, tuna tostada, and crispy calamari with cacio e pepe was another wonder you didn't know you needed.
For our main, we ordered the lobster roll, beet falafel and grilled skirt steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and flavor bombs throughout the dish.
It was my friend's birthday and they brought out this little goldfish cake, it was the extra that made it that more special. Lastly we got the tres leches, it is made with cornmeal and added a bit of depth to elevate this decadent dessert.

I enjoyed myself! Food was good and original enough to not be basic. Restaraunt is big and beautiful- if you like having space between tables this is the place for you. The bar is also nice

Hospitality was not that great. First we had a cocktail serve with a chipped glass. My friend told the bartender he cut his lip and the bartender took the drink back. Spent a lot of time entering something in the computer. Finally, we asked when’s my drink coming and he said well I’m programming something first.
The drink was not comped. That’s ridiculous. The second thing that happened coffee during dessert was totally missing. When we told the waiter and he brought the check, he didn’t even apologize. He said I’ll take it off the check, I mean give me a break. .
The swordfish was a forced item very raw. Neither of us liked it. The chicken was superb enough to share for two people, and that does get high marks.
The tuna tartare was a mess. No one at the table, liked it.
The starter cracker was a repurposed giant goldfish cracker, which is a gimmick, not fine dining. This is a niche format, strictly for date night and better for a drink, but when I asked for the beer, which was a Pacifico, they were out of it..
I guess it’s hard to please adults. Stick to the chicken..
