Fun food hall and mercantile for all. Great if you have multiple people looking for different types of food, looking for a fun higher-end casual date night, or dividing and conquering to go find yummy takeout to go enjoy with a group out on Pier 17.Plenty of tasty options, fresh ingredients, and NYC goodies to purchase.

May look beautifully presented but these 3 Canadian oysters gave me the worst food poisoning of my life. How one experience can ruin something for you forever. 24 hours later and I still cannot move. I have tried to get in contact with the fish counter and Tin building but as I have had no luck posting here as a psa. Would not eat raw fish here.

Super Expensive, very lavish luxury items. Good place to find exotic items. Nice place to sit.

Worth a visit, especially for foodies. The Tin Building Market reminds me of Montreal's Jean Talon market but smaller and curated for New York. You'll find top line gourmet items not readily available elsewhere in the city - especially in the butcher department. If you're a rabbit fan, they have it! (Although I never thought I'd find chickens more expensive than Kosher or Whole Foods Organic, but obviously the pictured Silkie and Golden chickens must be a real treat!) That being said, it's unlikely you'd do your regular grocery shopping here unless you run a hedge fund, have a trust fund, or won the lottery. If you're hungry or thirsty now, The Tin Building packs assorted good options ranging from coffee spots with baked goods or bars to restaurants featuring different global cuisines. And... if you're a vegan or vegetarian, there's ABCV.

Honey cake was amazing and not too sweet, one of the best cakes I've had. Basque cheesecake was really good as well

I was visiting my dad in the office in Downtown Manhattan to help him out a little when we got hungry and decided to stop by the Tin Building for lunch. I heard that they had delicious salads, and I'm pleased to say that I wasn't misinformed. I ordered a salad with salmon, fennel, tomato, and peppers with an olive oil dressing mixed in. I've never been to a build-your-own salad place that had nice ingredients like this and didn't know what to expect, but once I got back to the office, I realized that the salad was so good that I couldn't put my fork down. The salmon was cooked perfectly, which is hard to do without overcooking and the salad wasn't too oily, nor was it too dry. The fennel also complimented the flavor of the salmon and the cherry tomatoes in the bowl. I can see why people love coming here, and I can see why this stop is so famous for its delicious food. Although the salads there aren't cheap the quality and taste of the food you order is well worth it as well as the view if you choose to stay and eat. I don't think I'll be back in the financial district anytime soon, but if I ever find myself near South Street Seaport for whatever reason, I know this will be on my list of go-to lunch spots.
