Too stressed at the checkout, not smiling, quickly quickly even though there are few people. Hot coffee.

Be careful SCAM at the weigh-in!!!I just came out paying more than 20 dollars for 2 small trays! The first was half or almost filled with a few grapes, 2 strawberries, 2 mini pieces of pineapple and 1 small piece of watermelon. The second had exactly: half a spoonful of rice, 2 fried chicken wings, 4 mini pieces of caramelized chicken!!The gentleman weighed it and told me 18 dollars!!! With tax, I got it for 20 dollars! The fruits, apart from the grapes, all ended up in the trash... they tasted musty. The rice was inedible, the wings dry!!!In addition to cheating on weight, the food is completely inedible during my experience.I can only advise against this place.

“Hot plate” was ice cold. Food tasted disgusting. Asked to please swap out for something different and was told by the rude counter worker he will microwave the disgusting food. DO NOT EAT HERE!! Horrible food and service. Not to mention all the drunks upstairs that stare at you while you eat. Horrible place.

Because I am a decent human being and I want all small businesses to succeed, I am giving this place 5 stars. That being said, the people who run it are among the rudest and most unappreciative people I've encountered at any run-of-the-mill deli in NYC, and I've been to dozens of them. The staff screamed at me multiple times when I attempted to walk upstairs to the seating area simply to check if I was in the right place where my friends were waiting for me. I told them I was planning on eating there, but that wasn't good enough. Then they screamed again when I tried a second time and said I should leave. It was comical actually because the upstairs seating area is about as welcoming as the Penn Station men's room. I assume they are concerned about the homeless hanging out or people loitering. Also worth noting is the restrooms are coded entry, so only customers can use them. Anyway, I have a job where I could encourage hundreds, maybe thousands of people to have lunch here. But I will not be doing that anytime soon. In fact, I won't be doing that ever. On the upside, the pay-by-the-pound food variety and quality absolutely meets or exceeds expectations in this particular category of NYC delis. Just buy your food before going upstairs to eat it.

I just spent $22 on a 1.5 pound box of food from the hot/cold bar that I couldn't eat because it was rancid. Too bad I didn't realize until I got home. Partly my fault for choosing buffet food at 10 pm. I should've known better.I'm just surprised they sell rotten food that's been sitting there at lukewarm temperatures all day and that may no longer be safe to eat at full price without any warning.

I ate 2 times during my short stay in NYC. I thought the food was decent, with an excellent variety. In February 2024 they were charging 12.99 each pound, which is an affordable price for NY. You serve yourself in plastic plates and when you weight the food they give you fork and knife. Upstairs though is not a very pleasant place, at night some people drinking and listening music. But If you want a cheap and decent food, this is your place.

If you love yelling and disrespectful staff, go ahead and enjoy yelling. I went there to meet my friend. When I went up to the second floor , a beautiful young lady yelled at me so loud that every customers turn around to see what happens. She kept yelling, the second floor is for eating. I said I am going to meet my friend. She just kept saying for eating only. She shouted me, “Do you understand English?” I finally left the cafe and called my friend to leave the so called dining area immediately. Thank you for the young yelling lady for your kind guidance with perfect English

Used to go there daily for breakfast. Food quality has gone down despite the price increase. Cashiers are not friendly, some are simply rude. Hopefully they will change

Food tasted as if it was around mold in a refrigerator very concerning on health matters, spoke to someone in charge and they were very rude and dismissive and didn’t do anything about the situation would not recommend especially if your rushing and don’t have time to walk back in case anything is wrong with your food taste and quality.
