Food fine for lunch. Members of management made women of my party, including my daughter, niece and myself, 63F, uncomfortable. Not eating here again.

Gluten Free Options!!!
Wonderful Mexican food restaurant! Very classic. Guacamole was excellent, we had the yellowfin Tuna Civiche and the beef tacos (tacos come 2 per order, many different options), plus Flan for dessert. Excellent service.

If you have food allergies or are gluten free, don't rely on the menu to have proper markings. Things were inconsistent. They marked items that HAD gluten instead of what was gluten free. Backwards, I know đŸ€”.

They have a gluten free fryer for tortilla chips and you can discuss with the waiter what you will like to have and they will tell you what is gluten free or if it can be made gluten free. (I absolutely HATE having to ask, slows down my decision making as I keep coming up with questions. I prefer a separate gluten free menu with all the safe items listed.) Having to ask makes me nervous I'll order something that will make me think I got food poisoning and I hate bothering people. I have a tendency to order something small to keep it simple in that situation. I don't order everything I would like. Much prefer everything safe written on a separate menu. There were other foods I was interested in, but I had already asked about multiple items so I ended up with two little tacos.

Food, drinks and service was very good. However, they didn't inform us of an early closing time (10:30?) for NYC and after filling our final drink order, proceeded to rush us out the door. Don't ask us if we want another drink if you're closing in 15 minutes. Very annoying.

Always excellent! A favorite neighborhood spot! They did forget to celebrate the birthday that was noted in the reservation tho...

Walked passed this location almost everyday and finally stopped in for an after work drink. Very friendly staff, quick service and nice margaritas. Cozy inside. Bartender Rafael was real cool..will be stopping by more often!

Absolutely phenomenal experience! The food was beyond delicious, especially the nachos and the birria tacos. The nachos were perfectly fresh and the sauce had an incredible flavor in every bite. The birria tacos were the real star—tender, juicy, and packed with rich, savory goodness, with that amazing dipping broth that takes everything to another level. Every bite was bursting with authentic Mexican flavor. This place truly knows how to do it right, and I can't wait to come back for more. Highly recommend to anyone craving amazing Mexican food!

Absolutely my favorite place to dine in NYC. The staff is welcoming, the food is amazing, the drinks are strong. Salsa is perfect. I recommend the short rib open faced quesadilla. Have dined here numerous times and will always come back.

Not cheap but fantastic Mexican food. Had the short rib and carnitas tacos and chicken enchilada and it was all excellent. Worth the trip.

Best experience with family on Christmas. Food was delicious, drinks were great and our server was lovely! Cant wait to come back next time in NYC. Do not miss out on the truffle quesadilla! It's a banger!

We stopped by this place for dinner after attending a church service at St. Ignatius on the Upper East Side. As walk-ins, we were warmly welcomed and accommodated at the bar seating, which we appreciated given that the space is relatively compact. The staff were friendly and attentive, setting a positive tone for the evening.

We ordered the beef and shrimp tacos, and they were excellent — very tasty and nicely presented. For dessert, we had the churros, which were good but felt more like a commercial-style version rather than freshly house-made. We’re big fans of authentic Mexican churros, so our expectations were a bit higher based on previous reviews.

Overall, it’s a pleasant spot for evening drinks or a casual dinner, and a solid option if you’re around Lexington Avenue near 50th Street in the Upper East Side.

It's always fun going to Toloache. However, during Hanukkah it's even more fun with a terrific special Hanukkah menu in addition to their regular menu. Coming early meant we missed the large parties that were going to be there later. The service is always friendly and accommodating.

Favorite Mexican in NYC. My whole family agrees. Somewhat original menu but everything is great. Cosy place, so it gets crowded in the evenings but, shouldn't tell others..., we can always get a table at lunchtime.

Yesterday we went to Toloache and it completely blew our minds. We would easily rank them as fine Mexican dining.
The drinks were delicious and well made.

The short rib quesadilla was unlike anything my palate had ever experienced. It was truly one of the best dishes we have ever had at a restaurant.

The branzino was delicious, with perfectly crispy skin and tender, flavorful fillet.

Toloache, we will definitely visit again.
