I recently met up with a friend to try the much raved Tonchin Ramen. In my opinion, the ramen was decent, though for my taste, the soup base leaned a bit salty. By the halfway point, I found myself reaching for several cups of water. Service was efficient, though perhaps a bit too quick-paced for a leisurely catch-up. We noticed our table being wiped down right after they took our bowl away, which gave the impression of having us close the bill asap. Other than that the atmosphere...
Absolutely loved my experience at Tonchin! The ramen is legit—rich, flavorful broth and perfectly chewy noodles. You can tell they take pride in every bowl. I had the Spicy Tonkotsu and it might be the best ramen I’ve had in NYC so far. The gyoza were crispy and juicy, and the whole place has a really stylish vibe without feeling too fancy.
