Miserable bar tender. 15 dollars for one can of beer. Haha. I won't fall for that scam again

Great service, really interesting beers to drink at the bar, and a huge selection for taking home with you. Excellent staff. And buy some groceries or snacks from Essex Market on your way out!

Stopped by to have a beer with my wife. We just moved to the neighborhood and was looking for a great beer spot. The female working that day had a horrible attitude... my wife thought she was racist. We didn't leave a big tip because the service was terrible, the bartender picks up the paid check and checks the bill and lets out a loud sigh... LOL... we just left. Terrible. If you want a good tip, you should def. fix the attitude first.

The bartender was very rude and had her headphones in.

Similar experience to other reviews here. Walked up to the bar and was not acknowledged at all. The bartender seem to deliberately ignore us and not take our order despite not being busy with anything else.

Rude , my husband went to go buy a 4 pack for later and the lady was just rude . She was just nasty and rude that’s not how you act

Mind you it was not busy at all.

Great recommendation to try a new beer and a little bit of history to go with the beer.
Great and relaxed atmosphere at a nice bar w/ delicious beer.
Will definitely be back.

Over the last few months I’ve really grown to love coming here. Beer really isn’t my thing, but the Australian bartender there really helped me find what works for me as a non-beer drinker and has helped me find my palette. I now come back several times a month just to chit chat and have some laughs as I try to branch out into more “adventurous” beer selections with her guidance

I love this bar! It’s a great intimate spot inside the market with an amazing beer section and even their wine is quite good. The bar tender is really helpful she always seems very knowledgeable and recommends something I end up loving to try each time I’ve been. She’s really cultivated a great community there. The music from the record store across the way is always excellent too. Highly recommend stopping by!

I love to travel and drink good beer, my partner and I were very excited to add this stop to our trip. The two Belgian beers we had were fantastic. I wish the service was as good as the beers. When we approached the bar we weren’t even greeted with a ‘hello’, we said hello first. We ordered our beers, which felt like a chore to the girl on shift. I asked if many people come to sit at the bar I got a sarcastic ‘that’s the idea’. I was just trying to make casual conversation and felt like I was a hindrance to her day. A buddy of hers came up and she was super friendly to them so there was clear potential to be nice to a fellow human. No check in on the beers or anything, I am a server it’s not a big task with only 2 people at your 6 person bar. Another customer came up asking about a 4-pack and she was just as rude to her just pointing to the end of the bar, not very helpful. Nice to know it wasn’t something I personally said to receive such service. I have never felt so unwelcome at a bar. I felt uncomfortable being there. When I say I travel to drink good beer, the last time my partner and I were in NYC we spent 8 hours with an over $500 USD bill because they were knowledgeable of the beer and friendly. It feels like a pretty woman situation where she made a big mistake. Off to go find more welcoming places to serve us beer. Oh also, after we paid, not even a ‘thanks’ or ‘goodbye’.

Don't waste your time. I walked away after waiting for the bartender to do his job and serve his customers.

Always was a fun little spot to stop by on my way out. You're better off grabbing something from a gas station than stopping here.

Difficult location to have a drink. You will be pin ? down to the bar area if having any alcohol.
Non alcoholic friends are not allowed to hung with you without drinks or with food.
Ahhhh! ??
Non friendly bartender either!

Nice place with tasty beers. Only the bartender was way below par. Sat behind the bar on the computer and paid no attention to the guests. She would have been better off chatting pleasantly with the guests.

Came in to Essex Market while visiting my son, a long time New Yorker. We stopped for a rest and a beverage. The bartender was absolutely a delight (Lauren). She happens to be from Australia but made me feel comfortable, at home, and delighted with the experience.
