I love your food. I love your staff. I love the hourlong all-you-can-drink sake which you very enthusiastically refill. I love that you take great care of a person who can’t have gluten. Please take all my money in exchange for delicious grilled fish and chicken.

Great food! Very friendly and welcoming owner! The yakitori tasted great and quality of the chicken was exceptional. Very authentic Japanese izakaya experience! The owner was so kind and even gave us a free side of purple sweet potato fries which were perfectly crispy and delicious without being too oilly! Very good and I highly recommend the yakatori ! We order chicken breast, heart and liver and it was all incredibly tasty. I will definitely be coming back it’s well worth that walk down Stanton street if you are in the area!

I came here late one evening on a weekday and enjoyed my experience! The interior of the restaurant is spacious, casual, and great for big groups. Service here was pretty fast.

We ordered sake, takoyaki, agedashi tofu, gyudon/udon, and a variety of skewers. Everything was delicious. The skewers came in a good portion and the entrees were flavorful and huge plates. It was a great casual drinking and cozy vibe with friends on a rainy day.

Popped in for some skewers around 4:45pm(?) on a Sunday — first time, atmosphere very cool and warm

Everything we got was tender, well-seasoned, and delicious. Drinks tasty too. Service pleasant and food arrived quickly. Definitely, definitely coming back again in the early evening next time I'm in this area.

Thinking back still makes me laugh a little. There were 4 of us, and the other 3 all ordered rice bowls. After the first bite, they each had this kind of indescribable look that said a lot without words. I ordered teppanyaki, which came out much later after everyone had finished their bowls. The server brought me a free bowl of miso soup to make up for it. The food itself was fine, nothing special. Overall, the place feels more like somewhere to drink and hang out than a restaurant meant for really enjoying the food

The food here was excellent. I especially loved the Okonomiyaki, it was better than some of the stuff I had in Osaka! The yakitori was also very tender. The restaurant itself was spacious. I would def come back!

We tried many things and everything was great. The highlight was for sure the seafood pancake. Our waitress was amazing with helping us choose.

Came for lunch with my friend earlier this week and it was great. We got both the lunch special (I got the oyakodon with kara-age and he got the gyudon with sweet potato fries) as well and some skewers and beer. They run a happy hour from 12 to 6 pm which is great if you like Japanese beer (and I do). There also a complimentary miso soup at the beginning of the meal. All the food was good (the kara-age was portioned into larger piece than I'm used to but it was still juicy and tasty) and big portions on the rice bowls. You can get the skewers grilled with salt or tare and they come with a wedge of lemon you can squeeze over it. If you do get skewers, I recommend eating them ASAP because they cool off quicker than the rest of the food (not their fault or anything, just the nature of it).

There was only one waiter who doubled as the hostess while we ate (it was pretty quiet when we were there, but it's probably busier during dinner and the weekend) and service was quick and friendly. They also run some promotion where if you can stop a big stopwatch at exactly 8.88 seconds you get your meal free but we stopped too early at 8.73. Music was audible (mostly kpop and jpop/rock I think) but not overwhelming and you can still hold a conversation. Seems like a great place for a date, casual dinner, or just chilling after work so I'd definitely come again

Found this place in my old neighborhood when I was visiting NY in August. Great service, delicious food and the vibes and decor were on point. It almost felt as if you were transported to Japan. Will definitely be visiting this place again next time I'm back home.

Just a couple of weeks ago, this was an easy five stars. Lately, not so much. The $10 lunch specials that gave the place its charm are gone, and the food has slipped. Gyoza arrived underdone. Salmon rice was clumpy and dull. Flavors blurred together. The lunch special set this place apart from the many strong new Japanese spots in the neighborhood. Without it, and without the sharper execution it once had, it risks fading into the crowd.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times, but when I came today, I was told the kitchen closed at 10:45. I thought I used to be able to order until 11:30 before.
It says the restaurant closes at 12:00 — maybe you should consider updating the posted hours?
