If you come to NYC expecting to live an Upper East Side experience from 90s TV shows, this is your place.

I was kicked out because I wad waiting for my friend before to ask for a drink. They demanded to make an order right away.0 stars of 5 for the service. But ok. Capitalism won. Probably they just don’t know that loyalty converts to money as well. But I was here before. The music is always great.

Only gay bar that is elegant in nyc. People are dressed up and u can get a good drink. A nice clientele of all ages and the location is in a nice part of nyc. I wish there were more bars like this.

I have always loved THE TOWNHOUSE and have actually spent many a New Years Eve there..... On my last visit I became convinced we were druged by the bartender!!!!! My husband, myself and my cousin all became blackout drunk on 2 drinks while we were sitting at the bar and never left our drinks alone..... The 3 of us have no idea what happened or how we got home; thankfully nothing bad happened to us!!!! I have reported this to the local police precinct and all I can say no is DON'T GO TO THE TOWNHOUSE!!!!!

Prepare to time travel back into the 70s. The gold embossed red wallpaper, the matching low seat lounge chairs in what1e almost feels like an old hotel bar - or a townhouse. The soundtrack is 70s with some early 80s with a mature crowd of gay men and the Jewish women who love them. I heard it was a sugar daddy bar. I didn't get that vibe, but most everyone was over, 45 say, with plenty of 60s plus. People were friendly. Felt like old New York. Quirky and down to earth. Drinks are strong. They're trying not to be a dive bar which is so unusual for a gay bar.

Great Place for a strong drink and very nice staff.

Always a top notch experience. Easily a favorite place to come visit after seeing shows, opera, or something at 54 below. Highly recommend - you can't go wrong!

While this place is fun and the people and vibe is borderline awesome, my friend got roofied there, and on another night, got their bag stolen. Just if you go, please please keep your eyes open. It can be dangerous! And it's such a shame.

Went there several times during July with friends. Always cool . Last Saturday , we had one round of more than 70 dollars but were charged twice the same amount . Mistakes can happen . We emailed 2 times using the email adress of manager mentionned on the website but emails came back non delivered. We went there personally last Monday afternoon and left a written note to the manager ( we were told our message will be given ) but no answer . Then we used the contact page of their website explaining the situation. : no reply… so now it is no more a question of a possible technical mistake … it is just robbery … so when there , if you leave your credit card , and even if you sign ONE BILL, keep in mind you can be charged two times the same amount …

One of my favorite places to go to for a few Cocktails and live piano music all night long. Quite regularly there are some amazing singers that simply happen to stop by and treat us to a performance of a lifetime. Full of great people, service and wonderful musicians.
