Uncle Ted's Modern Chinese Cuisine

I had such a great experience here. The staff went out of their way to accommodate exactly what I wanted and were incredibly kind about it. It's rare to find a place that's both flexible and genuinely welcoming. The service was thoughtful, the food was great, and I left feeling really taken care of. I'll definitely be back.

The place was empty for a reason. When I arrived there was no one to greet me, I finally got a seat and then waited for what seemed to be an eternity for someone to come and take our order. It seems the older Asian man in glasses is the new manager and he is the worst thing to happen to this place. Unfortunately won’t be coming back anytime soon unless they completely remove him and his staff. Couple of weeks ago when I came there were still some good people there but it seems they left after being treated poorly by management. Wouldn’t recommend, even if you spend your money here it’s going towards the wrong people. So many more and better Chinese restaurants in nyc don’t waste your time coming here.

Update: still my favorite but they moved closer to me so now it’s my favorite to dine in at. I love the spicy garlic chicken and the stir friend cabbage with chili.

It’s just the original owner made her food very different, it isn’t the same since it’s new management. The original people also aren’t there anymore, so if your use to how it use to be just know a lot has changed. The service is also slow when it comes to getting your food. My order wasn’t correct at first so had to wait even longer for them to make new rice that didn’t have veggies in them. It seems to be focused on an aesthetic rather than quality. Just something to keep in mind when going here 😩 me and my man will only come for the bar due to them having really good piña colada that’s it since we like the village area.

Had an amazing time at Uncle Ted’s. We were seated at the bar immediately and served by Edgar! He makes amazing Martins and cosmos, we will be back for the hour drinks and more dim sum options.

Edgar really gave me gave a welcoming attitude and treated me with lots of respect and attentiveness. Makes really great whiskey sours. I will definitely be coming back because of him :)

They recently changed everything at this place (menu/decor) and i was concerned it would be worse but the food and service was fantastic

The manager was so drunk he didn't know where he was. I honestly felt so bad for the Waiter and busboy as they were running around trying to keep him away from tables. The manager kept coming to the table but he was so incoherent we couldn't get him to leave us alone. Food was excellent though.

I found out they changed the management so I decided to try it. Best decision of the year, the service was amazing: Fredi’s welcome was friendly and professional, the vibes the place gives are fancy and exotic, the food was very tasty and the drinks were delicious. I can’t wait to bring my bbf!
