We were able to walk in on a weekend for late lunch which was nice.

Atmosphere is great and our waiter was fantastic.

However the food was a bit lacking and moreover my chicken Kiev dish was raw inside. To the restaurant's credit they comped my entree and gave us complimentary appetizer but not sure I want to go back any time soon.

Not sure how they managed to bring us a raw chicken dish but I know the wait staff were changing shifts. I don't know if that applied to kitchen too. But still, the chicken dish is presented cut in slices. They should have seen the issue before it was served.

What a memorable meal! We loved the cocktails (something essential & some sort of vanilla bourbon drink) - very creative and delicious. Appetizers were unique (caviar on tater tots)! Overrall, didn't have a bad bite of food. Service worked together and attended to all of our needs. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting NYC! We loved it!

We came in the afternoon with 6 yo kids. The people who are working there are just amazing! Drinks are great, so much care and attention to the kiddos as well! Great place for amazing atmosphere.

The food was quite good, especially the starters. It’s a good mix of innovation with homey American cooking.

Union Square Cafe offers an enjoyable dining experience with attentive service that ensures you feel taken care of throughout your meal. We ordered a variety of dishes which were well executed, including the flavorful lamb scottadito with whipped feta which gave the lamb a nice tang, perfectly cooked tilefish with mussels, juicy and crispy 1/2 chicken, and tender duck with toasted hazelnuts. While the food is generally very good, the special of tater tots with caviar fell short of expectations and aren’t worth the splurge. Apple cake dessert was ok.

However, overall Union Square Cafe remains a solid choice for an enjoyable meal.

We had lunch at the bar on 21st Dec. Lovely dishes, simple and great execution. Good wine selection and cocktails were elite. Stars of the show were the lady and guy bartenders. Understated genuine warmth and good fun throughout. Thanks for the birthday treat

Fantastic. The service was so attentive, yet not over the top. Our waitress was able to offer personal recommendations, and she knew a lot about every dish on the menu. An extensive wine list too.

Eric the bartender was one of the most talented bartenders I’ve ever met or seen. Whether it was him or someone else I loved the experience. The drinks were amazing and the atmosphere was second to nothing.

The food is phenomenal, but what really blew us away was how everyone, and I mean everyone, was so kind and considerate.

We have a 3-month old and Shantell, Albi, Jennifer, Teanne, and others (probably not spelling these names right) went above and beyond to make us feel at home and welcome with our fussy kiddo. Honestly, felt like we were in a Ted Lasso episode how thoughtful and accommodating everyone was.

We will 10000% come back every time (not exaggerating) we are in nyc.

Best pasta dish I’ve had in years!!

I had read raving reviews of the hospitality here but I found it anything but. Our server asked us 3 times if we were sure we didn’t want alcohol, and seemed like he was in a bad mood after. He seemed perfectly pleasant to other tables he was serving but for some reason he was grouchy with us throughout the service. Service was also slow.

We ordered Duck pasta (malfedine) which was good, my husband ordered Duck (he didn’t like it). we did love the broccoli that was absolutely spectacular.

Chai afagato was alright too.
