Gone are the days of Danny Meyer hospitality I guess. The ambiance this time was as nice as I always remember it to be, and the first couple appetizers were alright, but the service was questionable, with wine spilled over our cutlery and in our water and several misunderstandings throughout the evening. We then received a pork chop that was literally raw, and their only offer of recovery was to reheat the raw pork, which we had already sliced. What a disappointment.

Stacy is the best! She's been my waitress the last few times I've been here and she always is so attentive and brings such positive energy, attentiveness and enthusiasm. We didn't have a ton of time before a show and she timing everything perfectly for us and gave us great recommendations! Thank you, Stacy, you are such a great representative for the USHG brand!

One of the trend setting American restaurants that has been around for forty years is still serving delicious and inspired food. From the delicious bread to the excellent chocolate cake all of the food was flawless. Feels as of the moment as it did in the 1980s. Also a shout out to the the excellent service. Our server was fabulous.

Beautiful space! Lovely staff and great food. Especially enjoyed the plum dessert!
I had an excellent dinner with an old friend recently. My friend lives overseas and came to New York for a work trip, I chose this iconic place to treat her and it did not disappoint.
We shared the zucchini to start, it was refreshing and bright, followed by the agnolotti, which was so good I had to ask for more bread just to wipe the plate clean. The tilefish and lamb were both cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Sommelier David helped us pick a half bottle of Burgundy red that paired beautifully with the whole meal, and our server suggested the plum florentine for dessert, which ended things on a high note. Great food, thoughtful service, and a warm atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back soon.

I want to thank Shantel for looking after me with such genuine care and hospitality. My expectations were already high, especially knowing that Danny Meyer has set the standard for service in hospitality, but both the food and the service more than lived up to it.

A perfect restaurant. A top favorite in the city. You can tell that there is a lot of thought put into the sourcing of ingredients. I need to come back more often!

I was lucky enough to dine at Union Square Café twice this week, and both nights were absolutely memorable. The food was beautiful, every dish balanced and paired so thoughtfully with wines that made the whole experience shine.
David, the sommelier, is true gem of a human. Warm, genuine, and so passionate about what he does. He made both evenings feel special in a way that went far beyond the glass.
And on my first visit, I had the joy of meeting Chef Carmen while having a drink nearby. The second visit she came out to say hello and was just as warm and lovely as the food she creates, such a generous touch that I’ll never forget.
Union Square Café is more than just a great restaurant, it’s people like David and Carmen who turn a dinner into a beautiful experience that we won't ever forget. Thank you ❤️

Man, I read the books and had the highest of expectations for the service. The food was amazing but it took way too long to get asked about drinks and food and the service was inattentive at best - normal world rating might be a little higher bc of the food but put yourself out there as the arbiter of service and this ended up a bit disappointing

Simple, excellent food. Attentive staff. All the dishes were so well prepared and deliciously seasoned. We had zucchini salad, trout, chocolate cake, pasta with sausage. There was not much sausage, but that was the only low point the cocktails also amazing. We had reservations for restaurant week for $45 for two dishes each.

I've wanted to come here for years since I had the Union Square cookbook when I young, and it really lived up to two decades of internal hype!
I'm not sure I've ever seen my wife so happy from the quality of food, especially from the dessert (cheesecake and chocolate cake.)
Our server Sarah was amazing, and made us feel at home right away, as well as giving really good recommendations.
I couldn't stop eating the potato chips - just a perfect balance of garlic, salt and oil. We also had the broccoli, which may sound like a simile appetizer, but it's both complex and compulsively edible.
We had the duck ragu pasta, and the pork chop for our entrees, and both were terrific.
I'm not sure the next time I'll be in New York, be I'll definitely make it a point to come back to Union Square Cafe when I am!
