Wonderful sushi. Kind people. Absolutely top tier fish. There are plenty of places to get omakase, but this is the realest. If you’re in the area - don’t miss this. A true gem. Something special
I love Omakase experience. I was so excited to try it at this place. For $95 menu here, you will get something regular abt $20 to $30 at any other sushi menu in the city. We had a bottle of Sake for 3 to share. Each of us paid about $170 including 20% tip. It’s quite overpriced. Wish we could notice some special dishes or sushi quality at this restaurant so that we can talk about. Sorry!! I would not give it a second chance.
These guys were incredible. Our show was going to start before our meal was going to be done, so they told us to go ahead and go to the show and we could either come back after, or just not finish and what we'd had was on the house. The food was incredible and I really wanted to finish the course so we came back, and they let us finish our meal even though they were closing up. I've never had such a considerate arrangement. They also redid my sushi when they accidentally used wasabi (I want to like wasabi, I'm just too sensitive to spice). Such incredible service and lovely staff! The plum wine is also really good, even my husband who doesn't normally drink had some!
Quick, reasonably priced set meals. $90 for 10 pieces + chawanmushi + tuna roll + miso soup + salmon app
Great Japanese food. They were informative. This restaurant also had Chawanmushi, a savory egg custard, that my daughter's always wanted to try. The authentic sushi was good, shrimp was good. The teriyaki salmon was delicious. The miso soup was good. We had no reservation but that wasn't an issue. The waiter was nice and did a good job too. The panna cotta with strawberry sauce was really good. And, I never was a big fan of matcha, but this matcha ice cream and matcha cake was amazing too. I also liked Sake. Great spot for traditional Japanese cuisine.
This place is so good! My friends and I got the sashimi platter and the fish were so fresh! The sake is good as well. Our server was very hospitable which made the experience so much better. He took time to explain everything. We really appreciate that. Highly recommend for anyone around the area looking for a good sushi place!
I've been twice for Omakase here, once over lunch before Covid, and once recently for dinner, and each was magical. For the price, you will never find a more sophisticated and expert menu. The courses are as carefully ordered as Kaiseki, and some items have stayed the same (an exquisite flavor combination of layered shiso leaf, yuzu, and sesame comes to mind), while some change based off seasonality. The chefs here are masterful, the rice is a perfect texture and temperature, the pacing just right to allow the palate to reset. The service is equally careful and caring. I brought my mother here when she visited from Australia, and they were kind enough to put the small flowers I'd given her in water beside us during the meal, both keeping them fresh and making our corner of the sushi bar feel personal. Everything felt effortless, and I owed my deep respects for the staff and chefs for their individual attention even as the meal ended and the wave of Friday night diners flooded in.Best sushi in NYC, and while I haven't been to Japan before, best sushi I've had yet. Strongly recommended.
Went for the first time and had the smaller omakase menu. Really incredible sushi, very classic preparations with some creative additions here and there.Service was excellent as well. Highly recommended on all counts!
Watching Take work is a gift. 40 years of experience down to a delicious life changing bite. Delicious.
Incredible tsujiki omakase and unfiltered saka. Great service.

Maybe its just me, however, while the food was good it was nothing remarkable. The fish were not the freshest and a bit dry. For the price they charge I expected better. This place is definitely on a higher end price scale.
Been a huge fan of Uogashi since they were in the East Village. The quality and prices are still great. Best sushi dinner set and they serve omakase..
We had omakase here and opted to sit at the bar and. The sushi chef was super nice and gave us good portions of sushi. The fish is also delivered from Japan. We loved the experience and would definitely recommend this place.
We came in tonight ready to enjoy a rare date. We wanted to eat omakase at the bar. After ordering, including a bottle of wine, we were served our first course: an oyster. I looked in the shell after consuming the oyster and saw a small, worm-like bug. We called the manager over who removed the course quickly, with no apology. He then returned with no apology to deliver the next course. We got up to leave, feeling uncomfortable eating raw food with potential bugs. Only then did he say he was sorry and tried to excuse the bug being on the outside of the shell. When I corrected him that it was on the inside, he made it clear that nothing would be done to convince us this wouldn't continue to happen, or that we would be compensated in any way. We will never be back after such a disgusting experience and rude service.
Authentic and fresh sushi - go for the omakase!
