Servers where very attentive & friendly. Food was great like the short ribs & we had other dishes. All were good and large portions that should be enough for a family style meal - to share. Always do a family style meal in asian restaurants. Brewed coffee was also good.
It's a festive atmosphere with clear sound walls between tables that keep the noise down - conversation is easy. The decor is great. There's a mob scene at the entrance that makes it hard to figure out how to get in. Food is decent enough but is not the main draw.
Favorite Thai cuisine in the city. And our Server Kwan is the absolute best. The drinks, the food, the atmosphere, all 5 stars.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had. Service is excellent and the cocktails are perfectly mixed. The pad see ew is well balanced and not too sweet. The pad kee mao is truly medium spicy, on the verge of hot. Don’t let the spice deter you, it’s well layered with stir fried red pepper, onions, asian broccoli, tomato and topped with crispy basil. 10 out of 10!

Whenever I’m on the Upper East Side, Upthai is one of my go-to spots. The service is always warm and attentive, and the festive décor gives the place such a cheerful, welcoming vibe that makes you feel at home. The pork chop is my absolute favorite — unbelievably tender, full of flavor, and the portion is generous enough to leave me completely satisfied.
Upthai never disappoints, and it’s a place I always look forward to returning to whenever I’m in the neighborhood.

My family and I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The quality of the food is amazing and the flavors are done right for any dish you get. I particularly enjoy the chicken satay and papaya salad for starters. The massaman curry is an explosion of flavor and the pad see ew is another favorite. I also enjoyed trying the drinks here for the first time this week and was pleasantly surprised by the passionfruit mojito. The staff is always friendly and offers great suggestions. We were seated in the cafe next door, which I guess Up Thai uses on nights which was a little strange but honestly didn't really impact the dining experience. It was still great food and drinks, but if you are hoping for a more aesthetic ambiance make sure to ask to be seated in the maining dining room.

Our usual go to for vegan friendly Thai cuisine. We always have kee mao(ask them to remove eggs and fish sauce), salad rolls (only seasonal, wished they were year around), mango sticky rice (also seasonal 😞). Wonderful atmosphere it's one of our favorite places! Highly recommend especially for date nights 💖
I tried chicken and duck apps, seasonal short rib, and seasonal sticky banana desert. Had the M&M cocktail.

Horrible service. The hostess wouldn’t even look me in the eye when I tried to pick up my order. The pad se-ew lacked flavor. And the tofu tasted weird. It came with one piece of bok choy

I tried Up Thai for the first time and it instantly became one of my favourite Thai spots. The mango salad was super fresh and flavourful, the chicken pad thai had the perfect balance of sweet and savoury, and the panang curry was rich, creamy, and packed with amazing flavour.
The ambiance was also incredible — warm, modern, and a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Service was friendly and quick as well. Overall, one of the best Thai dining experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend!
