I called back and I told them about a dead roach in my food and they said ok have a good day and hung up
Upland is 5 Stars across the board. I sat at the bar and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I felt very welcome. The Crispy Duck Wings are a must. Drinks were well poured and spot on. I recommend for locals and visitors alike.

Amazing Engagement Celebration Dinner at Upland
We recently dined at Upland to celebrate our engagement, and it was a night to remember. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation, and since the restaurant isn’t very large, we found ourselves standing near the bar while waiting to be seated. Unfortunately, no tables were available earlier, so we had to wait until our scheduled time. It’s always a bit awkward ordering drinks while standing near others seated at the bar, so we skipped that part. This was the only small downside of the evening.
Once seated, however, the experience quickly became exceptional. We were escorted to arguably the best seat in the restaurant and greeted with a handwritten card from the Upland staff—such a thoughtful and personal touch that made us feel truly special. Upland has this unique ability to make everything feel slower and more relaxed, which was a welcome change from the usual fast-paced NYC dining scene. Our server gave us space and time to savor the moment, which we really appreciated.
On to the food and drinks! We both started with the Omarango cocktail, made with vodka, mango, ginger, and lime—sweet, tart, and absolutely delicious. Then, the bread. Oh my goodness, the bread. Whatever your dietary preferences, just eat the bread. It was the most delicious we’ve ever had, and yes, we ordered a second loaf.
For our mains, we each had a pasta dish—rigatoni and pappardelle. Both were perfectly cooked, with just the right balance of pasta, meat, and parmigiano. The flavors were rich and comforting. As a surprise treat, the restaurant brought out a side of crispy sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts, which we hadn’t ordered but now insist that everyone should. It was a standout dish that took us by surprise—seriously, I almost licked the plate clean.
To top off the night, we were treated to glasses of champagne to celebrate our engagement and were handed dessert menus. I knew what I wanted before the server even set the menu down: the Chocolate Layer Mousse Cake with coffee ice cream. I had spotted it earlier and mentally committed to it, and it was the perfect finish to our meal. Rich, decadent, and absolutely worth saving room for.
Overall, our experience at Upland was amazing, and we highly recommend it for any special occasion or date night. The service, food, and thoughtful touches made it a night we’ll never forget. Run, don’t walk, to Upland!

This is a fantastic choice for NYC. It’s very popular and the noises level can be high but it’s a fun experience with good food, warm service and relaxing ambiance.
Nice spot for brunch on the weekend. Good variety of dishes to choose from. Cocktails were good, particularly the Cherry Smash. I would come back

Went there for brunch on Sunday. The gluten free menu they have on their website was not actually available.
There were only a few gluten free items. They didn't have any gluten free bread, and the waitress was confused regarding if the potatoes were done using the same fryer as the croutons. They did offer me gluten free pasta, but I didn't try it.
Given the limited options, I had some eggs and bacon and they swapped the bread for a tiny piece of avocado. Overall, it was fine but you could probably do better in the area for the same price.

Great experience!
10/10. Let's start with the food, which was phenomenal. The bread and butter were so fresh and outstanding. Lives in my top 2 butter experiences. The crispy artichoke was salty and crunchy and the burrata salad was a perfect balance, being sweet and fresh. Next, we really enjoyed the bianca pizza which was bursting with garlic flavor. The cacio y pepe pasta was very good, very classic. The brussel sprout and sweet potato with whipped feta was the perfect side. We overindulged and I have no regrets except that we didn't have room for dessert.
The restaurant is bustling and loud but with a fun, youthful vibe. The service was also top notch. The waiter was very helpful with providing guidance for ordering and they were mindful of dietary restrictions. There are loads of vegetarian options and there's a vegan main dish option as well.
Would absolutely return! I'm counting down.

This place is incredibly overcrowded and overpriced, with mediocre food that isn't worth the high cost. If you're looking for genuinely good-tasting food, you'd be better off skipping it while in Manhattan. However, if you're okay with paying $10 for water just to sit outside on a sweltering day, then maybe it’s worth a visit
