There aren’t many healthy food options uptown so I was pleasantly surprised to find Uptown Veg one day headed back from the gym. The stores manager Miss J is the epitome of great customer service, as her presence made me feel like I was being served by a loving family member. Food was great, especially the vegan oxtail and vegan Mac n cheese (which I’ve seen lots of restaurants not do correctly). An added bonus was the pineapple ginger juice I got that was just the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. I will definitely be back and continue to share the praises of this restaurant! We need more shops like this in Harlem. By the way, it was super reasonable as far as price!

Uptown Veg 2 is a lot smaller than the first location on 125th and some of the selection is more limited. However the food is still very good and the fact that it is vegan is a plus. The staff is nice and helpful and you can generally get a smoothie or juice made with whatever fruit you would like. You can also get a small plate of food hot food for under $20. I usually get the rice and beans, collard greens, and jerk "chicken" soy protein. Be mindful that they can be understaffed sometimes and it may take a little longer to get your order processed but this is a hard time for all food service places so please show some grace and patience. Overall it's a great place to stop by for a quick bite or on your lunch break.

This place has horrible customer service. My friend who has a service dog for medical needs was denied entry from someone as soon as we walked in, stating "we don't allow pets inside you're going to have to leave her outside" My friend stated that she's not a pet but a service animal to which the worker replied "doesn't matter, we don't allow pets or service animals" not sure that is legal. either way we walked to the other location which is 1) bigger! and 2) had someone with their dogs. If you want good and affordable vegan food, go to the other location at least there they care about their customers.
I couldn't believe how good this vegan food was. Food that is this good for you is not supposed to taste this good. And there are so many choices. And everyone in the store is friendly and helpful. It's a charming little storefront cafe with a few tables, that handles mostly takeout.
