10/10! Highly recommend, I come to Urbana almost every day for my coffee although it is so much more then your usual coffee shop! From the art pieces that cover the walls to the live plants, this is a place of comfort and relaxation. (They also have the cutest merch)

A Hidden Oasis in the Heart of NYC??

Urbana Cafe & Gallery is one of those rare places in New York City that effortlessly blends great pastries , excellent coffee, and inspiring art into a single unforgettable experience. Nestled in a charming corner of the city, this café is much more than a place to grab a bite—it’s a vibrant hub of creativity and community.

From the moment you step inside, the ambiance is inviting and warm. The space is a thoughtful mix of industrial chic and artistic flair, walls adorned with local artwork that gives the place an artsy yet comfortable vibe. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time, whether you’re there to meet friends, work remotely, or just soak in the creative energy.

The coffee? Absolutely top-notch. Urbana serves up expertly brewed coffee that rivals some of the best cafes in the city. Whether you're after a classic espresso, a frothy cappuccino, or a smooth cold brew, the baristas here take their craft seriously and it makes all the difference. And for those who love a good pastry with their coffee, Urbana delivers with a selection of freshly baked goods that are the perfect accompaniment to any drink.

But what truly makes Urbana Cafe & Gallery stand out is its integration of art. The gallery space showcases rotating exhibitions of contemporary art, much of it from local artists, adding a dynamic cultural layer to the café experience. It’s not just a place to eat or drink—it’s a space where art and community converge, creating an environment that feels uniquely New York. You can enjoy your meal while taking in thought-provoking pieces, or even attend one of the gallery events for a deeper dive into the city’s art scene.

The staff at Urbana are warm, attentive, and passionate about both the food and the art, which creates an inviting, laid-back atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the Urbana family???

If you're looking for a café that offers more than just a great cup of coffee or a delicious snack, Urbana Cafe & Gallery is a must-visit. It’s a perfect spot to fuel both your body and your creativity, all while enjoying the best that New York has to offer. Whether you’re in the mood for a quiet coffee break or an afternoon spent exploring local art, Urbana is a true gem in the heart of the city.

This is the most unique and authentic coffee shop I’ve been to. The coffee is spectacular and the addition of art from local artists makes me glad to spend my money here. Such a cute vibe to have a coffee date, spend some time studying or just stopping by to pick up some great coffee! Still waiting for them to open up more locations!

Freakin Incredible Experience at Urbana Cafe and Gallery

Urbana Cafe and Gallery is a true gem that’s quickly become my favorite spot! Legit as soon as you walk in, you’re greeted with the warmest atmosphere and the friendliest staff. The owners clearly pour their hearts into every detail of this place and its artwork, and it shows.

Let’s talk about the food—the little Madeleine cookies shaped like teddy bears are legit insane! Not only are they adorable, but they taste like a little bite of heaven, perfectly tender and buttery. If you're feeling naughty, pair them with one of their morning rolls, which are hands-down some of the most insanely delicious pastries I’ve ever had. Soft, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness, they’re a perfect way to start the day.

Now, I’m not typically a coffee drinker, but Urbana's coffee is in a league of its own. (Not just because Timothee Chalamet was seen drinking their black coffee) It’s the one coffee I actually look forward to, and I’ve found myself coming back for a cup on days when I never thought I’d crave one. Smooth, perfectly brewed, and with the kind of depth that makes you savor every sip. It's a small miracle that I’m hooked on coffee now, all thanks to their expertly made cups.

And as for the staff—wow, just wow. Every person who works here is genuinely kind, welcoming, and seems to love being part of the Urbana family. It’s not often you find such a perfect combination of excellent food, great coffee, and amazing people.

Cute spot with the right amount of ambience to keep you focused and calm. Great art and great people. An amazing area too with a 2-minute walk to the High Line or Chelsea Piers. Definitely would recommend.

This place has a WiFi usage limit of around 15 minutes, but I cannot find any sign or notice about it in the shop. This approach shows complete disrespect to customers. You should be cautious before spending on the overpriced drinks here.

Love this coffee shop, been here a few times and they’re so consistent. Everyone is very nice. Oryanna is the best barista ever. She always makes the best drinks and is so kind. I will definitely be back.

Great space and great coffee but most expensive americano I’ve had in the city even before the unusual up-charge for a splash of almond milk

A comfortable, relaxed and well distributed space. We went it for something warm mid afternoon, and was delighted to find something new: an infusion of herbal teas with added dried apples and strawberries, which diffused a wonderful ‘orchard’ aroma and was a lifesaver for those of us that cannot tolerate caffeine anymore.
Love the ampleness of the space, with provided enough distance between tables and couches to have a private conversation without being drowned by the volume of other customers’ conversation.
We spent a peaceful moment, rare in most other cafes.
