Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

Asked if they had a gluten free cone option, after a very painful back and forth where they insisted I scan some QR code, the answer is that they DO NOT offer it, but for some reason are not able to simply say “no.” Ice cream is mid, service … well, read above.

I recently visited this location and unfortunately had a very negative experience that left me feeling racially profiled. The server was dismissive and rude from the start of my visit. When I asked for Oreo topping, she sighed as if I was inconveniencing her. Later, when I said “excuse me” to get her attention, she responded with “what?” in a disrespectful tone. When I expressed that I was offended and that her behavior was not okay, she responded that she didn’t care, kissed her teeth, and mumbled inappropriate comments under her breath about people of color.

No customer should ever be treated in this way especially in a place of business where respect and courtesy should be the standard. This experience was deeply upsetting and disappointing, and I hope management takes this seriously and ensures that no other customer is treated this way.

Delicious ice cream but lady was so rude! She has no patience and not only with me everyone over there today was talking about her attitude! Tell them to be kind because they work with customers

The ice cream was ok. The service we received from Tyler was outstanding. Tyler was very helpful and kind with us considering most of our conversation was about topics other than ice cream. Thank you again !

I had the peanut butter brownie makeshake and my honest opinion it was 6/10, I had better the flavor was bland and chunky. I drank it all because it was expensive. My boyfriend on the other hand got sick from vanilla bean milkshake, he throw up in the bathroom and stomach was hurting. He told me the milkshake tasted more like milk then the flavor, and tasted like it gone bad. We were at the Van Leeuwen ice-cream around 8pm First time trying this place out, would I come back no, because of the quality of the milkshake, I wouldn't come back.

Pretty good ice cream. Conveniently located in the shopping mall. They serve coffee and teas as well.

Met a gent named mikey near the vessel and he persuaded me to try the cookies and cream and as a person who is an avid gelato guy i can honestly say Van Leeuwen is an amazing quality ice cream at an affordable price

The green tea flavor was my favorite — fruity, light, and not overly sweet. I absolutely loved it! The cherry ice cream was also delicious and refreshing. Both felt unique and perfect for a summer treat.

The coffee affogato ice cream has exactly 0% coffee flavor. None. It's basically sweet cream.

Really passive aggressive staff, and the place was empty. Left without ordering anything.

Tasty ice cream in a waffle cone but WAY too expensive. OMG 😱
$10 and a few for one scoop of vanilla bean ice cream 🍦 the world does not need this!
Make it $6-7 and it would be reasonable

3.5 / 5.0 - This Van Leeuwen is inside Hudson Yards, on the 2nd floor across from Uniqlo.
This was not the friendliest location, with the service being more passive.
There’s no seating inside, but there are tables right outside along the shops (still inside the shopping mall).
I got my favorite honeycomb ice cream, which didn’t have much of the crunchy candy in this time.
The location is great, though—hope others can experience better service.

Horrible customer service.

Extremely rude staff. Not sure why! It's an ice cream shop with great quality, delicious ice cream, only if the staff didn't give us attitude and made us feel we should have gone to get icecream somewhere else.

No one has a better mint chip, NO ONE. Right behind is the second best ice cream you'll ever taste (Earl Gray Tea)
