I was beyond pleased with my experience at Village Taverna! We changed our reservation several times, and they were very accommodating. The food was delicious and our party of 9 ordered a variety of dishes.
Great food and service!

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food came out efficiently and everything we got was super tasty. They also give big portions, so it’s great for sharing.
What a quintessential neighborhood NYC vibe! I have been here a long time ago and was in the area and wanted a good meal. Village Taverna delivered! Great layout, inviting energy and delicious food. I sat at the bar, happened to sit next to the owner, while a regular was waiting for her food to go and needless to say we all were talking, enjoying good conversations with the bar tender and appreciating excellent hospitality both from the owner and his staff. I had the pita bread and the half chicken entree. I will definitely be back. BRAVO

I've eaten here 3 times over the past year, it's a nice place - large restaurant and plenty of seats. Wide choice of food and the portions are big! lamb and chicken good, dont over order unless you want some for tomorrow. There is outside seating too.

The food was good, my favorite solely because I was craving comfort food were the haloumi and olive oil with olive pita bread. Service was great as well.

Restaurantji Recommends
Earthly authentic Greek food. Simple traditional good and raw natural ingredients. Enjoy solo at the bar or with good company at a table.
Average food in a nice spacious restaurant. I’ve been here twice, once I dined inside and once outside. The waiters are friendly, attentive, and fast. The restaurant vibes are also great with an extensive menu at decent prices.
However, with all of the delicious food in NYC, I don’t know if I’d recommend this place unless you’re in a rush. The food came out immediately after we ordered, like within 5 minutes, which gave us the impression it’s been sitting around. The gyro meat was very dry both times I’ve tried it. The Mousaka was good but didn’t have much flavor. The pita was also dry.

One of the best Greek restaurants in NYC. Very authentic i.e., whole fish, (dead, glassy eyes, et all), etc. High quality food at fair prices.

My taste buds were thrilled with everything I tried here. The portion size is well-calculated. I would return - the setting was calm and service was impressive. His positive approach ensured our initial visit to Village Taverna was wonderful. This restaurant maintains outstanding standards.
