Staff were so friendly. Food was scrumptious & the atmosphere was relaxed. Very much enjoyed
the corn bread portion has gotten smaller. the portions vs price seem too be off. Hostess and Bartender were exceptional.
Food is good but very heavy (lots of deep fried stuff on the menu). So go when you're very hungry. Our service was excellent. It's noisy but you are able to carry on a conversation. The decor is down home, in keeping with the BBQ. Overall, it's a good place to eat.
Sadly, Vigil's has (again) removed country fried steak & cream gravy from the menu. We had brisket sandwich & brisket melt. Both were very good. We wish Virgil's would also bring back peach cobbler!
Their level of action and concern about allergies is appreciated. I've enjoyed their food for nearly 30 years.
Really good! Pretty quick service but it's pretty packed in there especially since it's in the heart of Times Square. Definitely recommend the Mac attack!
Made a reservation because I thought it would be busy after a show. It was less crowded than thought. Wait staff was great, good delicious. A good spot to go .
great food BEST NACHOS EVER
Fun dinner before a show. Large portions. Love the ribs. Perfect martini from the bartender.
You definitely will not be disappointed. The food was delicious and the other tables look delicious as well. I will definitely be going back!

Two issues. I posted a review on this visit ot Virgil's right after we dine there. Because my phone number was posted with it, the restaurant called me within hours, apologizing and asking me to return. They called while I was working and I told the caller I would consider their offer, but I was at work and could not talk. She said she would call back the next day. Didn't happen. My original comment was that the food isn't what it used to be. The quality is not the same. The serivce was so-so. Whiel Virgil's had been a favorite for many years when in NYC, the food quality issue will keep me from returning. There is no reason for the restaurant to contact me about this follow up review.
I've been coming here for about 20 years, and introduced a friend to Virgil's this time. He loved the vibe and the food, and we had a really on-point waiter, while I got to indulge in the beers you can't find everywhere in NY (even if it's been a long time now since Virgil's carried Dixie, which got so hard to bring North after Katrina and the pandemic). The one real ding is that the place has now introduced karaoke, and just the amount of audio feedback from the mike the DJ used intruded on the meal.
This is the first time we came as open table the service was poor we waited over an he for our food to come out our waiter was rude short and did not explain well and he didn't tell us that I was paying for the water he seemed like he hated his job he wore a mask and for what reason he did not wear it properly he might as well not wear one especially if we can't understand what he's saying also the food was different than what we catered for a birthday I was really disappointed I was going to come back with friends next week but after last night I'm canceling my reservations and fyi I still left a 10 tip my bill was 127.00 I paid over 1000 for the catering in October but they won't be getting my money anymore.
Service was Amazing m. Our waiter, Brandon may have been best waiters have had. fantastic! food was amazing like always! favorite brisket and jalapeño mango sauce is one of the best sauces to try.
