We ordered one Whitmans Smash, The Hound, and an order of regular and sweet potato fries. The smash was very tasty but had minimal sautéed onion (as you can see in the photo). My buddy said The Hound was great. Regular fries were very good too- Almost like a crispier version of Five Guys. Sweet potato fries were average and I wouldn’t order again.
There was a party downstairs so I’m sure the kitchen was slammed but the server upstairs was very welcoming.

We came here for burgers on a Friday night! Loved it! The staff, the food and the service all great! There is a kids menu which was perfect for our picky eaters! Thanks team, we will be back!

The juicy Lucy is my favorite burger in the city! Great service, great food!
Best grilled cheese!
Whitman’s is a fantastic American restaurant that is known for their burgers 🍔
They have a nice downstairs area and even have some games such as Monoploy and Codenames.
Here is everything we shared:
Fried Pickles
Crack Kale 🥬
East Villi Cheesesteak
Juicy Lucy 🍔
Cabernet Savignon - 🍷
We both loved it! The crack kale in particular was a recommendation from the server and it had a great crunch/flavor. I really loved the burger which was juicy especially with the pimento cheese.
Fantastic service also! I’d go back!

decided to try this place with a friend. we got a couple burgers, a wedge salad and fries.
the salad was big and very good. we really enjoyed the housemade blue cheese dressing. the burgers were just okay. they were quite small for nearly $20. we were asked our desired temps, but both burgers were cooked well done, and a bit dry. the fries were just okay also. they were also overcooked and unseasoned. $8 for them is a bit steep.
we would have mentioned the temps on the burger to our server, but we didnt have time. i doubt we will come back, because there are cheaper, better burgers all over the city.

I came because my friends - who’d been there a couple of years ago - allegedly told it was one of the best burgers in town.
So we went.
BUT:
All the burgers were salty
Fries were just ok
Service was slow (not blaming the server, he was alone doing his best between cashier, take aways and tables on two floors)
Price was high for what we got quality wise: $30 (tip included) per person for a burger and a beer (and the fries were free as a day special, thank god 😅)
I won’t probably be coming back.

Can I have some water please? We downstairs
Very good address! The dishes are generous, and the pancakes... huge! Soft, tasty, well-cooked – exactly what you would expect from a good American brunch. The service is nice, the atmosphere relaxed, and the portions really hearty (get your stomach ready!). A beautiful discovery for lovers of XXL breakfast.

This place is the bomb. The employee that helped me was extremely helpful to a first timer in NYC. I'll definitely be making a stop here the next time I'm in the big city.
Amazing burger to boot!
I'll never know, because I got a chicken sandwich, but that was my choice (and the server confirmed it was a good choice). Chicken Ceaser sandwich, on yummy Sissel bread that may have been the best part of an excellent sandwich!
I came here on a busy Friday night. There is downstairs seating but I came by myself so I was fine sitting at a counter and getting one of the burgers. The one I got was alright. I did find the fries to be awfully dry.
Great burgers great cheese steak
Food was great and the staff very pleasant
