Service is very disappointing from the bartenders, both times I've been here. Different people so must be a culture thing at this location. They're extremely chatty with the regulars and completely ignore everyone else. Also break health codes and let patrons come inside and sit at the bar with their dogs.
Food is fine. Hats off to those in the kitchen working their butts off to the point of covering for the sloppiness of the unresponsive bartenders.

I read about how great their buggers were on Thrillist and they were right on point. There were about four burgers I wanted to try so my friend and I split two of them. We went with the Whitman Smash and Highline Hanger burgers. Both burgers had their high points, with the Hangers meat and the Smash sauce leading the way. The regular fries are a great side and both burgers paired well with the Stella's beer. Our waitress was very good and the spot was a great for eating and people watching. Glad I tried it.

The silver lining cheesesteak is absolutely phenomenal. Complimented with cherry peppers, it’s the perfect blend of savory with pockets of spicy mixed in Paired with the sweet potato fries it’s a dynamic duo of a meal when visiting Hudson Yards. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable on the menu however once we’d received our food the service slowed down quite a bit.

What can I say about Whitman's that has not already been spoken by the likes of Plato, Aristotle, and Jazzy Jeff?
Quite a lot it turns out.
The food is excellent, the owner is an enigma, wrapped in a tortilla, and smothered in friendly. The location is excellent, and the wait staff is so charming they probably should warn couples in advance.
I had half the menu (because I have no self control) and both the wings, burgers, and sides were all close to flawless.
I shall be back!

The burgers need to be seasoned a bit.The waygu tasted more bland and not buttery.It was moist though. Their burgers are more reliant on sauces like garlic aioli and others,but seasoning the ground beef helps a lot,cause sometimes the sauces aren't great. The fries were ok.The service here is pretty good.
The atmosphere is chill but can be loud,not from the music,just people talking so you kinda have to raise your voice to talk if that's an issue.

Sat at the bar for lunch. I got a wagyu burger with no cheese and it was flavorful without it. They take cash but seem to prefer card unfortunately/fortunately depending what you want to do.
The Juicy Lucy was amazing, a definite must here. Also the sweet potato fries were excellent. The turkey burger was terrible though, inedible, and the loaded tater tots were mush. Very nice service and good atmosphere.
