Wild Ink exemplifies customer service! Our reservation was for five people, but when an additional two showed up, they were great to make alternative seating assignments so we would be comfortable. It was very obvious that our comfort was priority to them. Most of the tables are round-with seating like a booth or with chairs around them-very comfortable and great for groups. Our larger group sat at a rectangle table to give us more space. The food was beautifully presented and artistically created. Several folks ordered the chef's choice of sushi. I considered it, but opted for the chicken instead. When the sushi came out I was glad with my choice. I don't like the raw fish, which is what it all was. But it sure looked nice! One of my favorite things about this restaurant is the gender neutral bathrooms. They are lavish and clean, although the lighting was a little too dim for my taste. I'd like to be able to see myself in the mirror to freshen up a bit. This is a place I'd likely return to.

Made a late night, Saturday reservation for 9:30 for the sole purpose of enjoying their Peking duck everyone is raving about. We arrived about 10 minutes early, checked our coats at the reception and sat in the bar area to enjoy some drinks. Apparently, this establishment gets plenty of patrons just for this purpose. There is a DJ playing music, which gives is a clubby vibe, playing the music really loud. So if you want to have an intimate conversation, or any conversation, for that matter, it's not ideal. But if you want to just drink and check your iPhones, like everyone seems to be doing, this spot might work for you. And while taste in music is subjective, the DJ was clearly playing music HE likes and he didn't bother reading his audience. Completely oblivious. The drinks took a really long time to get. You get the impression they are short staffed, or not that organized. We were then seated for dinner about 15 minutes after our reservation. Unfortunately, the music in the main restaurant was still at club-level volume and it didn't help it wasn't great music, either. Again, please know your audience. This isn't about me, it's about everyone in the room. Our waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The Peking duck came our rather quickly. It was a nice touch when they brought the whole duck out to present it to us, before they carved it in the kitchen. The flavor was good, and it's served with thin scallion pancakes, tasty hoisin sauce and some greens with thinly sliced peppers. The skin on a Peking duck should be crispy, with the fat rendered into the duck. It's a process that takes a while. THis part completely missed the mark. There was absolutely nothing crispy, which was a big let-down. Tip: * if you like a clubby, can't really talk to each other, vibe, this might be a great spot for you, especially if you are already in Hudson yards. Check to see when their DJ is playing, before you go. It may be completely different with other DJ's or when they are not playing at all. * It's a bit off the beaten path, in that you don't just walk into the restaurant. It's on the 5th floor of the mall, so take the elevators off to the side. * If you like Peking duck, this is not the place to get it. Check out Red Farm or Decoy. Infinitely better. Just make sure to order the duck in advance. * They also have Dim Sum. I don't anything about how good it is, but might be worth checking out for this, if you don't mind it being overpriced, compared to the far less fancy places in Chinatown. Verdict: There are other spots in town with better Peking duck, so we will likely not return. If you live in the area and can just pop in, it might be worth checking out.

I ordered the golden chicken with fingerling potatoes and chickpea spring rolls. One of the best meals I've ever had! The espresso martinis were perfection and the ambiance was just right. Great music, fast service.

I came here with a friend for dinner on a weekday. This restaurant is located inside the Hudson Yards mall. We never heard of this place and kind of just looked up a random place to get dinne My friend and I waited maybe 10 minutes for our table to be ready. We sat at the bar until our reservation was available. I must say the cocktails here were good. This is a very nice spot for a date as you get a stunning view of the vessel outside. The decor is very sleek and elegant. My friend and I were seated in our own booth with that was definitely big for just the two of us. I am not complaining but it was a great vibe. The food however is not quite up to par. We ordered the fried calamari, maine lobster hargow, scallop crudo, and an angus steak. All the food were just okay. The food itself mainly lacked in flavor and was otherwise bland. I think the best dish during this meal was the crudo. Overall: beautiful ambience and location, mediocre food.

I'm a pretty big fan of this restaurant. Great food, good service, quick delivery of food, a bit more on the expensive side but a great way to treat yourself on occasion. I really love their golden calamari, braised pork belly and their coconut milk based cocktail. Their Chinese New Year menu is always fantastic and very fun!

I feel bad writing this review because the service, mgmt and environment were all so incredible and welcoming. But the food was just not good. They really need to replace the chef. The menu made me salivate, but the food was completely underwhelming.

Was stuck between 4 and 5 because I save 5 for my favorites but I think a 5 is more fair. I really love how the restaurant overlooks the vessel...on top of a beautiful inside, you get to look over Hudson yards which was awesome. The service was really great. Our waiter was extremely attentive and all of the staff was really friendly. The food was all delicious--definitely was all super fresh. The snow crab roll was not anything special necessarily but there was nothing to complain about. The calamari was really perfectly tender and not rubbery. The lobster and prawn dim sum was pretty unique and definitely had a lot of fish in it. The dough was perfectly thin which to me made it perfect. The Thai tea creme brûlée was the one thing I will say I wasn't in love with but not because it wasn't made well. The crust was perfect--a thin sugar layer that cracked well and a creamy custard. However, I think I just prefer a traditional creme brûlée with vanilla. I kind of wish I got the strawberry yuzu short cake. But it was a unique dish and I enjoyed trying it. I'd love to come back and try more!

Wild Ink is perfect for a romantic dinning experience with the Edge being in the background - I highly recommend coming here during sunset, you will be amazed by the scenic pictures you can take from here. Food wise, I loved the fun Asian fusion dishes - grasping the core of the original dishes yet put a artistic spin onto it. Service was friendly and fast. Recommend :)

I like this place's lunch prix fixe sets. They also have some innovative and fancy dim sum options. Came here for a weekday lunch and split a couple dishes. Everything is really visually pretty here but it's definitely more upscale so expect a little bit of an upcharge for the location and atmosphere. The beet salad was more Americanized, the colors were great but it was a little bit on the heavy side for me in terms of the sauce. The har gow was good, not sure what coloring they used, maybe squid ink but super interesting color and the skin was so chewy! The mushroom buns were really cute, they actually looked like mushrooms with little dough stems. Adorable. Recommend checking this spot out for a casual but still fancy-ish lunch / dinner!

the servers are extremely courteous and gave great suggestions! the mains (food) could do with a bit of work everything else did not disappoint! please note that the Resturant uses the same oil to fry all food, regardless of shellfish allergies, not sure of Vegan or vegetarian options.

This place is pretty overpriced but it has nice views and the food is surprisingly good, albeit a bit salty. I came here as a group of 5 and made a reservation for 5:30 for 4. They were super accommodating when i asked to add one additional person, since most of the seating is booth-like. We ordered the peking duck, grilled octopus, crispy beef dumplings, kung pao chicken wings, lobster prawn hargow, shishito peppers, edamame, and a side of broccoli. Crispy beef dumplings: They do not look like dumplings but taste pretty good. It looks like a ball with (maybe?) an outer shell of fried mochi (or at least that's what it tasted like). I misjudged this dumpling by its look because it was quite delicious. Grilled octopus: Pretty solid, comes with some mini potatoes, a little salty. Kung pao chicken wings: Delicious. Again, a little salty, but the wings were perfectly crispy and made very well. lobster prawn hargow: A little underwhelming in taste but they gave us some chili oil on the side (definitely tasted like lao gan ma) and that changed the game. Peking duck: took a while to come out but this was delicious! the sauce was salty and the toppings for the peking duck definitely made me think "oh this is asian fusion". The buns/wrappers for peking duck were thin scallion pancakes (surprisingly good!) and the actual peking duck was cooked so well. Highly recommend, and it was a very large serving (although pretty expensive at 95$). Vegetables: Loved the shishito peppers, broccoli and edamame were solid (not sure how you can mess this up). Again, sodium overload but that seems to be a theme. overall, this place is a surprise hit. It's beautiful and the drinks are cute too. Definitely try it out if your at hudson yards.

Really good meal for an initial visit. The beef dumpling appetizer was especially tasty. Entrees we’re also excellent. Service was friendly and courteous.

Spacious restaurant and bar with open kitchen featuring asian fusion cuisine. Dinner service late into the night. Reservations required. Nice views. Tasty food and good service. Prices seemed above LA or San Francisco comparables. A good choice if in this area of the city.

Beautiful place in a great location with some decent service and a okay food. The appetizers were the good part of out lunch/brunch this Sunday. The duck was okay, the chicken waffle good and the black angus and eggs were horrible (it came cold). They never asked about if the food was good even though it was plenty of leftovers. You really can find better places for the overpriced and not good food.

No complaints about the Peking Duck: EXCELLENT! Service was a bit confused, missed one dish, but responsive when we flagged someone down. Will return whenever we attend events at The Shed.
