Really truly the best black and white cookies. I got a box of the minis there on Halloween eve and shared it with the kids. They packed it very nicely with paper between so nothing stuck together. But they were eaten quickly.

Yummy treats! Took the kids for an afternoon cookie snack. The cookies are huge and more cake-like. Tiny tables outside (only a couple).

They have a small outdoor seating area that I really liked, but the cookies weren’t quite my style. They were just a bit too sweet for me, especially the white side.

I recently visited after my mom told me some family lore about William Greenberg’s. Apparently, in the 60s and 70s, my grandma used to fly with boxes of their treats to Puerto Rico upon request of a friend that used to live in New York. It seems like every New Yorker with generations of lore has something to say about William Greenberg’s. My neighbor says it’s where his mother bought his Bar Mitzvah cake and says that he sends their famous chocolate cake whenever the occasion arises. Going there feels like stepping back in time from the moment you see their retro red and white exterior. But most impressive to me were the BEST BLACK AND WHITE COOKIES I’ve ever had. And I’m not even usually a fan. But the cookie is light and flaky, and the icing has just the right amount of give before melting away in your mouth. And they come in super cute colors? I ate four immediately. They also have vegan options!

Order #20497 was placed on 6/30/25. I paid for 2 day shipping so my family could have the cookies on their flight from Kauai on 7/4/25. The FedEx tracking shows the package has been sitting in Oakland, CA since 7/2/25. W. Greenberg rep said “Can I axe you a question? Do you think it’s our fault?…..” HORRIBLE customer service, disappointing experience.

Been celebrating with William Greenberg cakes for decades! They are delicious and beautiful, especially their famous chocolate cake!!

I have been going to Greenberg’s since I was a child :) their location in GV was my favorite:)
The pastries are as delicious now as they were back then :)
Now that Glasers has closed, Greenbergs has the best black and whites :)

The service has always been inconsistent at William Greenberg's, but the quality of baked goods usually has made up for the rudeness of many of the staff both on the phone and in person. Unfortunately, their baked goods have also become inconsistent. I purchased 2 cakes to bring as a guest. The chocolate sponge cake was embarrassingly stale.

There's a line, so you know it's got something! Hamentaschen were good. Didn't get some of their newer flavors although they sound interesting indeed but the standards (prune, poppyseed, apricot) were delicious.

BEWARE of this bakery. They leave your credit card information visible to all including the CVV code. Our CC information was stolen by an employee and used. Reported to 19th precinct NYPD (police). Owner and staff uncooperative with us and then the police. Continues this practice of posting visible FULL credit card information for all to see. Will never shop here again. Thief was identified by me tracing him down via detective work through use by Seamless account. Detectives followed up on my complaint. BEWARE

Their chocolate chip cookies are not bad

Not very good about allergy procedures

Given to us as a gift. They are so good.
Will have to order for myself at some point.

No idea why their black & white cookie is so famous. It wasn’t great. The cookie dough isn’t very good, and neither is the sugar icing. $2 for the small size.
