Easy classic spot for fun karaoke night! Will say tho, really hard to get the bartenders attention cause its so busy, smoking area is constantly and overwhelmingly hotboxed, and half the bar is skaters who think they are gods gift to humanity sorry to say. Very fun for like a girls night out kinda thing, but I’m spoiled by Brooklyn bars and don’t enjoy the crammed environment like I used to. Everyone should go for like someone’s birthday and turn up, but this will never be my go to place.

What a vibe! If you’re looking for a late night karaoke spot with charm and plenty to drink, this is your spot. It’s crowded on the weekends but what good spot isn’t? Come with a good group and you’re guaranteed a good time.

This is the best karaoke bar in New York City and it’s not even close. The bartenders are the best the music choices endless. This is my favorite bar of all of New York City. The vibes are always great. I’ve had so many wonderful memories here!! This place truly is very special to my heart. Love it !!!

This isn’t actually a review I just left my jacket there tonight and nobody’s picking up the phone. Voicemail isn’t set up either so. It’s cranberry red hoodie material with a folded collar and fuzzy lining. Cropped. Let me know if you guys have it— it’s not a flattering coat in shape but I do love the little thing a lot.

This bar is a historical one!

i feel bad leaving this review on a chinatown bar as a chinese person but i work in the service industry so i also fully know how customer service and tipping works. sadly i had experience with a rude bartender last month (i was warned before even coming the bartenders could be rude by a friend who lives around the corner) so i took a photo of my receipt where i wrote very clearly my tip + total before i left. i recently checked my credit card and they charged me extra on the tip.. extremely sketchy and unprofessional

Haven't been to the new location yet, but Winnie's was one of my favorite places to go in NYC ever, I seriously feel like I have a reason to live again finding out they still exist.

This place is so fun to come with friends and sing but the bartenders here are so rude. The guy bartender literally needs to get fired, i’ve never met someone so rude. I hate him.

Tipped the guy .9 cents on a 13.1 drink to round out to 14.00 instead of the usual 1 dollar that I tip. Dude at the bar was super rude and didn't let me play me song that a put a 1 tip gratuity on. Ignored me for the longest time, then got my second round of drinks and when I pointed out that he picked up everyone's song requests but my own he said (rudely) "You only tipped me .90", Made me cry in the bathroom, he was that rude.

Go here if you want to be harassed and bullied by the bartender in the tank top over the mic AFTER tipping. They will take your money and will ensure you don’t sing because they’re busy badgering you on the mic while your song is on. The entitlement is unbelievable.

I would honestly say that this is one of the worst experiences my friends and I have had going to a bar in NYC. They start off by awkwardly demanding ids at the bar and giving attitude the minute you walk in. My friend went to get us a round of shots and the male bartender was accusing her of not tipping (she handed him $40 for the shots and $ for the song) he came back and said that he didn’t see tip money and that both transactions were separate. She ended up giving him $10 but automatically assumed that we weren’t going to tip ???I then go up and ask for a cup of water he says it’s going to be $2. I questioned why he was charging for water and he gave extreme attitude and was basically ignoring me. I went and got $2 and he literally pocketed it and got a mason jar with luke warm tap water. I have never been to a bar that charges for a glass of tap water. Also, it took me maybe a solid 10 minutes of standing at the bar with him blatantly ignoring me to ask for the water (for context there were literally 3 people at the bar and it was not crowded at all).To top off the night as my friends song finally came on he made one of his little friends who was hanging out at the bar make an announcement to tip your bartenders?? As if we hadn’t already tipped them about $15 with everything and they were still rude af to us. We all immediately got up and left because of the absolute sour taste it left.Moral of the story this place sucks. Could see the potential if maybe they had decent humans working, some working air conditioning, and didn’t charge $2 for nyc tap water then pocket it? Maybe pick better bartenders who don’t suck. Come to Winnie’s if you want to have a horrible time!We ended up going to UpStairs Bar about 5 mins away and had the time of our lives and closed the bar down. They had food the drinks were bomb and not crazy expensive and the owners were awesome and didn’t treat you like a mf city rat like the bartenders at Winnie’s do.Maybe think before you go to Winnie’s.

Honestly, I came here because of all the reviews about the bartender/karaoke mgr and he did not disappoint, lol. He was FANTASTIC! His "attitude" was actually a part of the charm and matched the dive bar aesthetics. My cousins and I called him "The Legend."He's totally himself. If you act annoying he'll check you. And if you come in good spirit, he'll dap you up. That authentic behavior made the whole bar feel like a large group of old friends turning up! Too real, lol.Plus he and the security guy (we called him Bruce Lee, cause he had a Bruce Lee shirt on) can SANG and they didn't mind lending us background vocals. I mean they can SANG!We got there around 9p when it just opened and watched the spot fill up pretty quickly. So I'd suggest coming in early if you want to vibe with The Legend and Bruce Lee. Let The Legend run the show and do his thing (have fun with it. smile and don't argue. This ain't Chik Fil A). And you'll have a good night.

The bartender here needs to be fired. now. he makes this place one to tell your friends to NOT go to. i've never been treated with such disrespect from someone behind the bar, and looking at the reviews, this is a common theme. i don't know how this place continues to employ him when he acts like he couldn't give a f*** about the quality of service. do not go here.
