It does NOT get any more old-school than this. The ceiling and floor tiles look like they haven't been changed in decades. And the tables are nice, ugly shade of 1960's cheapo. After eating there, you will say DON'T CHANGE A THING! Let's start with their signature appetizer. The steamed pork dumplings are seasoned and juicy to perfection. Warning about the egg rolls. They are the size of a small brick. Bring your appetite. The pork fried rice is tops, so is their lo-mien. If you are going to try different dishes, take a friend or two with you and share the meal because the portions are huge. The service is decent, even when they are busy you will not be waiting long for a table thanks to the very attentive servers.Highly recommended especially if it is your first NYC Chinatown visit.

We have ordered a tea and before we even finished a half they in very rude words asked us to leave because the decided to give our table to other clients. Extremely rudeand unprofessional . Haven’t even apologized to us. Tea wasn’t even good

The most rude service in this restaurant, nobody recommend you. They make us leave the restaurant cause they need a table for another person but we seated there for 20 minutes only and drunk the teapot. Terrible and impolite, inhospitable and rude. Never come back if I decide to have a party

At Wo Hop Next Door, we indulged in a feast of authentic, clean-tasting Chinese dishes. Our picks included the fried rice with chicken, squid with black bean and garlic sauce, lo mein, sesame chicken, egg drop soup, fried dumplings, and wontons. Despite the hour-long wait and cash-only policy, every bite was worth it, making for an unforgettable dining experience. Next time we'll get more sesame chicken so we don't finish it so fast!

Old school Chinese joint in the middle of NYC chinatown. How old school you ask? They're cash only. You get water and hot tea once seated. We came in around 5 pm and the place wasn't too busy. Our food came out in about 10 mins. I had the beef with Chinese mushrooms. I like how the beef is cut thick. It was pretty soft as well and not chewy at all. Mushrooms were nicely cooked while the brown sauce was pretty nondescript. It did it's job tying everything together but the flavor was pretty mellow. My wife had the roast pork with vegetables. So glad this dish wasn't sweet at all. Though I wish there were more meat than veggies. AMPLE amount of white rice with both dishes. For under $8 each, you will definitely leave full. Give this place a try if you're in the area.

Came here during the Chinese New Year. We had to wait in line to be seated, and we didn’t have to wait that long. We ordered Beef Wonton Soup, Beef with Broccoli, Vegetable Fried Rice, Bok Choy, Chicken Lo Mein and Sweet and Sour Chicken. The food was good, and the prices are reasonable. Staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy.

Since the 70's a staple. Cool old school vibe! If you went to Chinese restaurants in china town in the 70's-90's then you know. Awesome seating- not a bad seat in the house. We sat at a community table which- if you're a New Yorker, is super ok! I've taken people here for decades and have never needed to wait... the food is traditional and fantastic. And fast! The lo mein is perfect. The soup rules. And the egg rolls are the same size they were 30 years ago, HUGE. Literally twice the size anywhere else. While portions are shrinking around Manhattan & BK china town reigns supreme. And always a bunch to take home. The Chinese mustard is no joke, really! Don't go crazy like with the stuff that comes in the little plastic bags form you local delivery. It's powerful! And I love it. It's so good it Will clear your sinuses and the people next to you lmao. Enjoy!

Hasn't changed in the decades I've been coming here. It's a NYC institution for a reason. The noodles are perfect and the soups are no frills good. Bring cash to leave happy.

Despite it being empty, we decided to enter, they gave us a very good welcome. The food is very good and they are very fast and attentive. Clean bathrooms. A shame about the exclusive payment in cash. Highly recommended.
