A great place in NY for really good Japanese food. The fish is incredibly fresh and the rice for the sushi is very good. Perfect temperature and texture. Great place.
Best omakase they have. We loved it
An unforgettable dining experience!
This place is simply amazing. Every dish was a masterpiece – from the incredibly fresh fish to the perfectly crafted sushi and the heavenly desserts. The flavors were rich and balanced, and the presentation was top-notch. You can tell that great care goes into every detail, from the ingredients to the atmosphere. Easily one of the best restaurants I’ve ever visited. I can’t wait to come back!
The service here was honestly excellent—both the bartender and our server were friendly, attentive, and made the experience pleasant. The space itself is also really nice, with a clean, modern vibe that makes you want to linger.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the atmosphere. My spicy tuna roll had a noticeable chunk of connective tissue in it, which kind of ruined the bite, and the rest of the sushi was just… okay. Not bad, but definitely not memorable.
I probably wouldn’t come back for the food, but I could see myself grabbing a beer or some sake at the bar if I were in the neighborhood. Great people, great setting—just wish the sushi matched the rest.
Delic! Great atmosphere too! Had a dinner date here and also went with coworkers another night!
Our first visit here, we definitely will be back. Being unfamiliar with Japanese food and wanting more than "just" sush,i we asked our server Smith for some advice. Smith was so helpful in recommending & explaining dishes and checking our preferences and said he would have the dishes adjusted accordingly. The dishes he recommended were fantastic , and the service was friendly and efficient, at no time did we feel rushed even though the restaurant was full. We definitely recommend Wokuni. It's not the cheapest place to eat but not bad for the quality and experience. Thank you Smith.
Great and fresh food, I had the bara chirashi which was filling, vibrant, and delightful. Next time will have to try the osashimi teishoku, they sold out of it the time I went bit sounds amazing.
Wokuni was a treat! We loved the Hamachi Carpaccio and the Sashimi specials. The Waiter was a ball of energy and super helpful. The menu was a bit difficult to read on our cell phones, and the Kitchen closed at 8:30 on a Wednesday night, which was odd. Overall it was a great meal, but there is room for improvement.
The omakase offering is mediocre at best. While the staples were fine as expected, some of the selection was poorly made and didn't compliment the choices before of after a serving. The sweet tomago eggs were almost inedible - stale, dense, and premade hours if not days ago. Will not be going back.
I have to say, the seafood bowls-海鮮丼-are absolutely amazing.

Excellent! Amazing execution of a menu that scales from affordable to Manhattan-night-out. My wife and I were perfectly happy making a meal of some tapas-sized dishes and the (truly excellent) duck entree, along with some Happy Hour drinks; we left, very happy, very well fed, and with our wallets intact. But if you’d like to take that up a notch, this restaurant will be happily to take you to some impressive heights.
Food is good 👍
Nice, modern ambiance. Top notch service
Very happy about the food. One of the best seafood I got. Similar to what you can get in Japan
This Japanese restaurant consistently delivers an outstanding dining experience with impeccable service and top-quality cuisine. As a regular customer, I am always impressed by their commitment to excellence, from their fresh sushi sourced directly from their fish farm in Japan to the perfectly grilled hamachi collar. The agedashi tofu is a comforting delight with its crispy exterior and silky interior, while the matcha and mochi ice cream is the perfect sweet finish. Our go-to sake, Dassai Nama, pairs beautifully with every dish. A unique recent addition to their sushi counter is a silent fish auction screen above their sushi bar counter was a nice touch. Their happy hour drink specials and Arigato set (fried chicken or oyster with Edamame) are a great deal and delicious 😋
