The N8 spicy oil noodles were good - the dough is the highlight. Skip the spinach vegetable dumplings - the dough is fine but the filling is grassy.

Wow that was delicious. The noodle was so yummy. And the dumpling with the sour sauce was actually yummy! I don’t even like sour stuff that much so this was just enough. I wish we had this in Toronto. Can’t find anything that matches this

Someone told me they give you a spanking if you don't finish your noodle. I didn't see anything but you can hear it coming from the kitchen

Very sad today. This was my favorite noodle restaurant. Since 2019 I followed the movement of “Smack!!” Noodles on the counter patiently waiting for my N11 or N1 Cumin Lamb noodles. I work nights so only when I’m lucky enough to be in the city in the day time Xi’an is my Spot!
Today… 😞 I order my cumin lamb noodles 🍜 (I love them so much I ALWAYS order two orders! One for now, and one for later! Sometimes the crave is REAL and I eat both in one sitting!!!) I’m not a big guy by the way! Just a love for my cumin lamb noodles!
Today…😢 I ordered my noodles (2 orders) via the website. I made sure I read and understood and checked that I wanted my noodles and oil and protein mixed together. I was dreaming about the hot oil searing my noodles 🍜. Instead I received cold packs of chili oil and noodle sauce! 😣😢😢
I didn’t realize it because the order was bagged up and tied! This kinda messed up my day. Now I have to go back to work and think about what to do with the other order of cold un-seared noodles🙁😞.
I truly don’t want to get these rating but what can I do?!?

The place was great! The prices were very affordable, especially for NYC. Got a drink and entree for $10 before taxes! No tips are requested and they pay their workers very well! Strongly support this A+ business. This review represents my independent opinions. I am not sponsored nor affiliated with Xi’an Famous Foods. I just like support this local business. Would strongly recommend for anyone passing by and looking for a quick bite.

Straightforward spot for some casual Shaanxi dishes. The stewed pork burger was okay, and the stir fried Liang Pi was decent too (although the latter is my own fault for not being much of a spicy eater, so the lack of flavorful was self-inflicted).

I’ll be visiting NYC for the third time in a couple of weeks and will be hitting up Xian’s for the third time. I think about this place wayyyy too often. I got their cook book the last time I was there as well! One of my favorite meals ever!! 10/10

Restaurantji Recommends
While walking through the streets of Chelsea and feeling hungry, I decided to stop at “Xi’an Famous Foods.” I placed my order using a self-service screen, and it came out really fast. I had a stewed pork burger and spicy and sour lamb dumplings. I spent about $17, and everything was delicious. I highly recommend the dumplings.

I am completely obsessed with every single dish I have ordered here. I live in Long Island and every time I have to make a trip to the city, my has a Pavlovian response and I must get noodles. I *do* take them home (even though everything is best fresh - and they have signs that tell you so!), but I just want a little bit of heaven for Long Island, too.

Love their noodles. Consistently good. Dining in is best, but the interior is not cozy.

SO GOOD!
I used to get this when I lived in NYC many moons and suns ago (when there was a east village store). So happy to taste it again! Still as delicious as I remember. The lamb noodles are my favorite. I like how generous they’re with cumin.
Also, the signs in the store are hilarious. Props to the owner/founder.
