Generous portions for the price. We will definitely visit again as soon as possible! It is a small place, so if you plan to eat in, I would recommend going outside of the busy lunch or dinner hours. We did take out and it stayed really well until we made it to our destination. Would definitely recommend this spot!

The trick here is to Stick to the classic lamb and cumin noodles! This is what made Xian famous and you will not be disappointed.

This was my first time eating Korean food and I had a good experience. Its a fast service good quality food kinda place. We ordered Spinach dumpling and lamb cumin noodles with beer(one with a little owl on it, I forget the name) and their famous apple cider. My boyfriend liked the food so much that he ended up eating like 3/4th of the order by himself. Apple cider was my best part there:)

Amazing food! Everything was delicious and is was extremely fresh! As advertised, best dumplings in New York City! The staff were friendly and very on top of the high order demand. Worth the wait? Not really. We waited in line outside in the rain for this “Famous food” it was okay. It was fresh but just expect more flavor in the food. There is hardly any seating inside the restaurant. It was unbelievably hot. The service was great. Just expected more from the food.

Oh man I wish this place would open up on the West Coast. No frills dining experience (you get to face a wall and it's all disposable plates/bowls/utensils) but the food is incredibly flavorful. The beef noodle soup, the veggie dumpling soup and spicy cucumbers were amazing. I need to try the dry noodles but I don't want to miss out on the soup dishes either!

Not far from Bryant Park. We really enjoyed the food. Looks like they have a new sitting area in the back. It’s nice and clean. Definitely some of the best food that I’ve had in a long while. The spicy & sour dumplings and noodle soup were amazing.

Have been there multiple times . The food is very good for the price. The seated area is hospital spartan and small relative to the volume , especially at peak times. The organization is poor. The counter is organized for card/cash and card registers ; but it is not clear when the card register is closed, as the register people also prepare food. Avoid busy hours unless you have a lot of time.

This place lives up to the hype. It's a real hole-in-the-wall and has zero frills, but that's all part of the allure. The noodles are *fresh* which is kind of a big deal. You taste the difference -- the texture, the flavor, the way it swims in the sauce. And the sauce (and soups) -- it's a thing food dreams are made of. Perfectly spicy and balanced. The dumplings are made with the same love. There will be a line to order. Wait in it. It's worth it.

I love there food. It's just so good.

The food tasted like instant noodle cup quality. No place to sit, too crowded, too dirty, and customer service doesn’t exist.

This place is definitely a classic that you should go to if you're in the mood for some spicy noodles in soup or dry noodles (still spicy)! The noodles are so smooth and perfectly seasoned with the soup/sauce they have. And you can't beat the prices of the food; the food is pretty filling for a reasonable price. One con is that it's not that big inside to dine in and a little cramped if you have to wait for the next available seat. Everything is really quick though, everyone usually comes in and grab some food to eat quickly so waiting for a seat isn't too bad! If you can handle spicy, this is the place! It's quite spicy but you can choose your level :)

are you super cold and looking for something spicy to eat? if so check out xi'an famous foods! i first heard of this place all over instagram and thought it was kinda hyped up but honestly this place lives up to its hype. the noodles are fat and filling, so so so sooooo goood. i got the spicy lamb noodles (no soup) and man was this life changing hahaa. i'm a s***** for fat noodles and the noodles here are chewy and super long. the lamb and the spiciness of the food also made fighting off the new york cold easier. the portion you get is pretty big, just fyi. as for seating wise, it's a first come first serve situation. there's not alot of seats inside and it can get a bit crowded. honestly, this place looks like a hole in the wall lol but check it out anyways for some good chinese food!

Despite being a life-long New Yorker, I had not heard of Xi'an Famous Foods until late last summer when a friend mentioned that this was his favorite restaurant in the city. As an avid lover of spicy authentic Chinese cuisine, I have spent the past few months dreaming about my planned visit here when I returned home to New York. Xi'an Famous Foods shattered my sky-high expectations and certainly lived up to the hype. After traveling to Beijing and Shanghai this past summer, I can safely say that this was by far the best Chinese food I have ever eaten in my life. I ordered the [N1] Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles, which were $11.21, as well as the [F6] Spicy & Sour Spinach Dumplings, which were $8.91. Although it was not quite as cheap as I expected, both dishes were quite large and heavy; I could not finish both on my own, and I imagine that this order could have been sufficient for two people. The restaurant's most famous dish, Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles, was absolutely incredible! The lamb was tender, a bit spicy, and perfectly seasoned in a cumin chili sauce. The true star of the dish was the noodles, which were so delicious and chewy. During my stay in China, I probably ate about a dozen variations of this dish -- this was by far the best one. The Spicy & Sour Spinach Dumplings, while certainly less ordered than the Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles, was equally as impressive! The dumplings, which had a very dough exterior and were stuffed with a spinach-based vegetable blend, were basted in the most delicious spicy chili sauce. Overall, if you are anywhere in Midtown, I could not recommend Xi'an Famous Foods any more!
