I recently revisited Yakitori Totto after a great experience here in 2023, but unfortunately, this time left me disappointed. It seems like there may have been a change in management, and it’s reflected in the food quality.

The dishes were overly salty—almost to the point where it overshadowed the other flavors. The seasoning was unbalanced, and I found myself reaching for water after every bite. This was especially noticeable compared to my last visit,...
We had some yakitori and most of the skewers are very nice. I especially like the chicken thighs and the pepper stuffed with meatballs.

However some of the skewers are not very flavorful, such as the chicken wings. Also didn't enjoy the chicken skin - I was expecting it to be more crispy and less oily.

The atmosphere was very cozy and the service was friendly.
when I miss my childhood home of Tokyo THIS is where I go. like any solo diner in Japan, I grab a seat at the counter, and immediately order my favorites: tebasaki (chicken wings), tsukune (chicken meatball), shishito, hatsu (chicken heart). Sometimes I get a highball, sometimes I get sake, but I *always* enjoy my time here.
