This unpretentious sushi restaurant will not disappoint. The sushi presentation is truly artistic as each piece is a masterpiece with incredible attention to detail. The sushi is a feast for the eyes as well as for the palate. However, Yama is so much more than sushi. They also have great fried and grill options. I almost didn’t move to Brooklyn because I wanted to be close to Yama. This is hands down the best sushi in the city. I’ve been going here for 20+ years. The special number five is out of this world.

I like that their rolls had a different variety than what you usually find on the menu of every Japanese restaurant. The service is very attentive and every recommendation from our server was amazing!
