While the lady was nice, the duck jianbing barely had meat and I paid $16 for it. It was also kind of cold because she stuffed it with cold lettuce to add volume.

The food tasted great but got sick the next day so maybe they need to fix their hygiene in the back or something definitely was because of the noodles given I didn’t eat anything else yesterday sigh, or now editing but probably it’s the spicy sauce DONT USE IT it’s probably been sitting on the table for weeks without replacement and yes I know spicy sauce is usually fine cause germs can’t live but this sauce wasn’t spicy enough and lowkey idk if it’s cause of the stuff they added or maybe just how long it’s been o but it tasted mad sour too???

Sucks cause the food was so good too now I won’t have a good image of them ://

Edit: called them and they were rude and even told me they were busy so then said they had to hang up…

The hot and sour rice noodles (n4) were soooo goooood. Absolutely amazing flavor and a great value. This spot has some casual seating inside so can dine in/out. Excited to go back and try more.

Got the braised beef noodles, Beijing noodles with soybean, a fish fillet crepe, and a pork belly crepe. Crepes were excellent and portion sizes could satisfy a hungry person. The noodles were also good, but I regretted not getting the spicy braised beef noodles.

This is one of my favorite places to stop and get a bowl of noodles. I can't say anything about the authentic-ness since I don't have much to compare it to but the noodles are so good! It's flavorful always and it's a pretty big bowl for the price! The staff is also really nice and the place is calm which I like.

A Masterpiece of Street Food – Jianbing at Yiwanmen

As someone who’s been on a near-spiritual quest for authentic jianbing in the U.S., I can confidently say: Yiwanmen absolutely nails it.

This isn’t just a snack—it’s a symphony of textures and flavors that hits every note perfectly. The crepe is thin and crisped just right at the edges, but still tender and chewy in the center. The egg layer is laced with black sesame and green onion, bringing warmth and umami in every bite. And that crunchy baocui (crispy cracker) inside? Pure magic. It adds that satisfying snap that any true jianbing fan craves.

This is comfort food, nostalgia, and culinary craft all wrapped up in one golden, crispy, savory crepe. Protein add-ons like roast duck or pork floss all elevate this humble street food into something magical.

If you’re in NYC and even thinking about jianbing, go to Yiwanmen. This is the real deal, and it’s worth every bite.
