Possibly my favourite stop every time I’m in NYC. The café side is consistently excellent - nova bagel is perfectly balanced and the chocolate babka is delicious. The adjoining deli and grocer is just as impressive, with an expansive curated range of produce and specialty items.
I'm a big fan of Zabar's. The options are endless, which I'm trying mostly each item (obviously not everything lol). Majority of the time I usually get either the Beef barley soup, dill potato roll, tuna fish wrap (amazing) or poppy seed bagel. There are a variety of chocolates as well (my favorite is anything to do with dark chocolate). And lastly, the caviar... Wow, just wow.
The best smoked fish department... Those dudes know how to slice...
A nice selection of prepared foods, desserts... Coffee.. everything you need.
Bagels are fresh, best price on the UWS and very tasty. Staff is helpful and professional.
