My two friends and I dropped in here spontaneously while walking home one night and we had the most wonderful experience. Reuben and his mother were working there and it’s been a family run business for over 25 years. I'm so glad i found this authentic mexican place. Born and raised in California it's hard to find stores in Manhattan that sell mexican ingredients to cook a authentic mexican meal. Usually you have to travel to Brooklyn or Queens . This store is so convenient because it's close to home.
The guy who owns zaragoza might be my favorite person in the east village. He's so friendly, I'm always annoying and can't decide what to get so we play a question and answer game until he whips something up, he doesn't charge nearly as much as he should, it's always a party in there and I'm always overwhelmingly happy w my meal. Best Mexican in nyc
