One of my absolute favorite high-end Japanese cuisine spots in Midtown Manhattan-this place never misses. I booked reservations for New Year's Eve before heading out to celebrate afterward, and it was my boyfriend's first time dining here. He enjoyed everything, but the dessert completely stole the show. What looked like a simple scoop of ice cream turned out to be fried sweet yam chunks paired with sweet potato and banana ice cream—unexpected, creative, and so delicious....
The experience at Zuma was disappointing overall. The welcome lacked warmth, the food was well presented but under-seasoned, and the service was polite yet inattentive. It did not meet the expectations of a premium dining experience.
