I will give this place another try this year and update my review accordingly.We were here for about 90 minutes. The food took about 45-60 minutes I believe our appitizer was given to another table creating the delay. Our initial plates had crums on them so we asked for new ones. The calamari was terrible and they hardly added any to the plate so we sent them back and they removed it from our bill. We also tried the chicken tender appitizer but they were just normal frozen tenders reheated nothing special and the fries you could tell were fried with old oil as they were very hard and burnt. The fried haddock sandwich was decent and so was the vodka sauce pasta with chicken. The place was very cold making me put my coat back on to stay warm. My girlfriend had a good experience here last time so per my initial statement I will have to give them another chance in the future and update my review.

I've lived here fore 38 years. Main Street remains the best place in town BY FAR. Other Newark restaurants have decent food, no question, but the last meal I was served at Main St. was the best of it's kind I've EVER had. The owner Tom always greets us (when he's not washing dishes). Hard-working, conscientious, great service and atmosphere -- and a CHEF, not a cook! My son is a CIA-graduated chef and I know the difference. Main St. provides top-shelf entrees, superbly prepared, fast friendly service in a clean, comfortable, warm, welcoming environment. Does it get any better? They're the clear winner -- they've earned it.

Great restaurant in the middle of Newark. This was our first visit, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The interior is split into a main dining room in back and bar in front with the kitchen in between. My fish sandwich was very good, on a nice soft bun with lettuce, tomatoes and raw onions. The better half's julienne salad was big enough for two, with more toppings than lettuce. Their Italian Wedding Soup was tasty, but a bit too salty for her taste. The Shrimp Bisque was delicious.Parking: Large parking lot on the side of the building.

I love Main street Restaurant! Are usually order the spaghetti with two meatballs. The meatballs are probably the best I've ever had. The spaghetti sauce is homemade and excellent. The real Parmesan is also very tasty and I usually order extra sauce with the dinner. The menu selection is excellent with many different selections.

This place introduced to us by our daughter who recently moved to Newark. We are so impressed! The food is amzing my wife got the queen prime rib...great presentation and equally taste! I got the Chicken parm ... I loved it. The place is immaculate clean f om where we sat. Comfortable seating in a both cause that is important to me. Service friendly and courteous even people not serving our table! Its a keeper.

Had a great date night dinner. Had the lobster or seafood bisque it's been over a week. One of the better ones I have had eating out and would get it again. I tried the fried artichokes which I enjoyed and took some home. For dinner I ordered the chicken marsala which was amazing ?. I even spooned up the sauce. Last for dessert I had the creme brulee, out of this world. My date had the chicken Caesar wrap and enjoyed it, but raved over the cheesecake. The cheesecake was pretty yummy. I will definitely be back.

Got there shortly after 9 on a FridayIt says on the outside they are open till 10...open sign was still on. Walked in and he said they'd been closed for a while...then change the time it says and shut off your open sign. 3rd time we've tried to eat there there is always something. Won't try again
