I came up to visit family and friends for the weekend. One of my family members frequency visits The Corner Tavern and had recommended it for a dinner. I stopped by The Corner Tavern on a Thursday night at approximately 5:30 P.M. It's located in central Newark New York on a private lot. There is spacious parking at The Corner Tavern. Inside the restaurant are two areas, one for sit-down dining on the left side, and on the other side is the open bar with the bar area, tables, and booths for food. I ended up sitting at the bar area. It's quite modernized for a bar. It had 4 wall-mounted TVs with a variety of drink selections. The bar area was pretty clean and well-kept. My family member and I asked for menus/specials for the day. There was a spaghetti pasta for [2] and a buffalo chicken flatbread on the special. On the regular menu, there was a variety of different options such as pastas, pizzas, main meal entrees such as chicken dishes, fish [etc]. I ended up opting for a flat-bread just due to the high prices at this restaurant. When first sitting down, after receiving the menu, my family member was offered a drink from the waitress, however, I was not asked if I wanted something to drink. Instead, after my family member had received their beer selection, she had interjected to the waitress, asking her to ask me for something to drink. I had just opted for a soda. We then proceeded to provide our meal selections. [1] Buffalo chicken flatbread [1] Grilled chicken flatbread We had waited over an hour for our meals. I was quite surprised at how long it took the kitchen to cook the flatbread meals. The grilled chicken flatbread was just okay. The marinara sauce was flavorless and lacked a lot of seasoning. The grilled chicken was cooked good though. It wasn't burned and the chicken was soft, not over-cooked. The chicken really brought out the flavor in the flatbread. My friend had [3] drinks and with both entrees, the total came out to be approximately $50.00. The customer service wasn't all that great. If you have a time crunch, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Wings were good. Good selection of options from the menu.

My ribeye was perfect! That, a salad and steamed broccoli make a great keto meal.

Another example of bad food...you can put sprinkles on a turd but in the end it's still a turd

The place itself was absolutely stunning, great service, beautiful venue but the food... terrible. We ordered simple things, salads, burger, fries, bad! The burger was burnt on the outside, they burned the bun as well. The lettuce was soggy and wilted, the tomatoes tasted of nothing and were very soft and mushy. The chicken on the salad was nearly tasteless (we ordered buffalo chicken) and the dressings tastes rancid. First and last time going there.

I had the shrimp Florentine, huge portion and delicious, tender shrimp! Husband had wings, he is picky about them and he said the were great and you get 12!! Prices are reasonable and service was excellent!

I was hopeful for the fresh start under new owners. First served was an iceberg lettuce salad. Included two slices of black olives and one cherry tomato. Queen cut prime rib was tasty but no au jus and no horseradish. Asked for both and after 10 minutes got a small portion of horseradish only. Fries were cold. Had to ask multiple times for a refill on the drinks. Perhaps because it was a week after opening that the fit and finish here was lacking.
