I live in Syracuse and every time that I make it out to Newark for work I stop at Tom wahls. yesterday was the first time I had seen a different bun. I really hope this is a temporary change because I have to be honest the burger only tasted about half as good as it usually does. the new buns are horrible

The food wasn't bad but it was kind of expensive for what you got. The restaurant was a cute retro diner. When asked if the burger he ordered had tomato on it, the server gave my husband an attitude and kind of rolled her eyes. The homemade root beer was cloyingly sweet.

Late 50's/early 60's atmosphere. Great root beer. Good burgers and fries
Way overpriced. The burgers were bland. The bun was pretty good though. The fries were bland as well. Asked for lettuce and pickles on the burger, didn't get any of that. Got a $2 root beer float because it was happy hour and that was really good and big. If I had to pay full price I wouldn't have got it. Doubt I'll ever be back, the food just wasn't that good for the price they charge.
