We celebrated my husband’s birthday tonight at Simply Soul and WOW—this place did not disappoint. From crispy fried chicken to a delicious steak and cheese sub and the most flavorful sides, every single bite was mouthwatering (the yams especially!) The portions were massive (yes, we proudly took home every last bite of the leftovers), and the service was so warm and welcoming. They were so kind to us and generously donated to our son’s medical benefit without thinking twice💚

We ordered friedchicken, ribs, sweet potatoes, greens, Mac and cheese, and catfish nuggets. Fried chicken looked good but had no seasoning on it . Ribs had potential. Mac and cheese was not good. Never in my life have I had sour cream in Mac and cheese, tasted more like sour cream than anything. The greens had so much sugar in them. If the chicken had the same seasoning the catfish bites did it could’ve been good.
We waited 52 minutes for the appetizer and our food for a hour and 5 minutes. Left the restaurant hungry. Don’t waste your time.

I ordered take out. Rib dinner. Food was excellent. Customer service was great. Restaurant was clean. Staff pleasant.
The food and people here are incredible. They really do make all the food with love. We got the fried chicken, the pulled pork, baked beans, macaroni, and fries and there wasn't a single thing that was less than spectacular. The food does take awhile but that's because they make it fresh.

Fantastic food. I had ribs, smoked chicken with creamed corn, collared greens, and corn bread. All were amazing. Exceptional soul food. Everyone else at the table was happy with their meals too.
The owner is a gracious host and the service is great.
Only reason atmosphere is 3 stars is to be clear about the environment. No frills. No table cloths. No alcohol served.
