I mean it’s still good, it’s not MY HERO without the old bread. That was the absolute best thing. I’d still recommend it but it’s not what it once was

So I want to start by saying I LOVE my hero but ever since they switched over owners it has not been the same, the new owner is very nice and staff are nice with that being said the quality of food is not on point I will add a video to show, I order a chicken/eggplant parm and was extremely disappointed the chicken was so thick and some parts had fat and there was about 2 pieces of eggplant very thin which I’m fine with but to only give me two pieces for a whole sandwich is ridiculous, I hate to write this review, but I have to be honest here not to mention they don’t sell Boar’s Head anymore I understand there was a recall a month ago but the recall is lifted and I’m really not sure if they are going to go back to Boar’s Head, but if I had a suggestion I think they should go back to it as the whole Long Island sells Boar’s Head but again that is my opinion. Cleanliness is good and service was good, just the food is definitely not the same very disappointing as this was my favorite sandwich place to go to!

Not sure when you guys started using different bread, but that used to be the best part of the sandwich. It’s so different now and a fraction of the size. The small I got today was a little bigger than a hot dog bun. It used to be enough to have half for lunch and the other half for dinner. Disappointed. Place has definitely changed

I know you think that people are working for someone or something but I have been coming here for many years and the new owners are definitely not keeping up with the quality of the sandwich. It has way less meat less flavor bread seems different but maybe it’s just because it’s all bread and little meat. There’s definitely ? less meat. i used to love this place and it’s less than average today. hero’s are to much money as well which i would be ok with if you didn’t get so stingy with the meat. sorry guys. maybe it’s time to make some changes. just being honest.

Finally after years of wanting to come here I finally did and I regret not visiting sooner! Had the fan favorite club sandwich with the works and WOW was it one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve eaten! Chicken was cooked perfectly and nice and think and all the toppings went well together and a great bread they use! I see they now carry semolina and I need to try a sandwich on that as well and I love the old school feel to the place great potato salad as well prices I feel are very fare Cash only and cash only places are some of the best! Can’t wait to try different sandwiches and I’m excited they will be open on Sundays soon so I could visit more!!

Excellent food. I’ve heard about this place for years & finally tried it for the first time. As a vegetarian, it’s hard to find a good eggplant wrap. I was not disappointed. Highly recommended
