Cenadou is quite the little gem in North Salem for fellow Francophiles. The inviting ambiance immediately draws you in, with warm lighting and plush seating. But the real star is the window into the kitchen, where you can watch Chef Tyrone meticulously plate each dish with such care promising culinary excellence with every bite.I've had the pleasure of dining a couple times now enjoying both the grilled Wagyu beef (HIGHLY recommend) and Cod fish, and both were exceptional! The Wagyu was cooked to melt-in-your-mouth perfection with sides to share including roasted bone marrow, while the Cod was delicate and beautifully cooked with a sorrento lemon sauce that will leave you never wanting to eat cod without it ever again. Can’t wait to go back to work my way through Cenadou’s menu—highly recommend a visit!

Food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional at Cenadou. A group of 6 of us shared just about every plate on the menu. Everything was very good. Some highlights from the mains were the two steak dishes and the two fish dishes. Both steaks were cooked exactly to medium rare with a good crust. Both the black sea bass and the cod had a sweet flavor profile, moderately firm texture and large moist flakes…perfectly cooked white fish.Thank you Chef Andrea and Elena.

Excellent is every aspect! Definitely a special occasion location. Be prepared to spend; but, the experience is well worth it.

Excellent ! I have been there twice : this is just amazing .... From appetizers , to entrees and deserts , there is some creativity, high quality of the ingredients and outstanding level in execution .... Service is very smooth as well while being very courteous . Wines a bit pricey, maybe .... The best surprise in Westchester for a long time .

This would normally be a two star review if it’s somewhere more established. But Cenadou has been the “hype” of the town for months. When we walked out of the reservation that we made weeks before for our anniversary on a Friday night, it was nothing much more than a displeasure. We arrived on time for our 7:30 appointment (together with another couple who also had a reservation). But I guess we drew the shorter straw because they were seated right away and we were directed to the bar to wait for our table. During the 10-15 minutes of waiting time, the bar hostess asked us twice if we were ready to order despite that we told her we were waiting for a table to get ready for us the first time she asked. Water was served on time while we were waiting. Right when I got too hungry and started to lose my patience, we were seated. Our server was generally pleasant. But then we were told that what we came here for was unavailable that night. So we went for Salmon and Steak frites instead, along with Aioli and Cantabrian anchovies. Food was served with good speed despite how full the house was. Aioli was good and creamy which went along quite well with soft boiled quail eggs. However, anchovies taste like oily canned cat food which totally wasted the good bread it was on. What’s worse is that the anchovy, oily by itself was paired with a thin strip of butter which made the whole dish unbearable for me. Salmon was crispy on the outside and slightly undercooked inside for medium. I am normally a big salmon person but it had a fishy aftertaste, possibly due to the freshness of the fish. Steak frites was a disaster in almost all aspects: presentation, taste and texture. We were told that they usually cook slightly under so I went for medium. But it turned out medium well and was chewy with parts of indigestible meat you would normally throw away. The sauce was brown and unremarkable. It grew on me but never reached to a point that I would like it. The whole dish was presented with dark brownish steak with brown sauce, together with your typical fries, which was not appetizing to me.Now to the dessert part, we did some homework but it wasn’t enough unfortunately. The cake business is apparently a “separate fair” which we need to call to preorder. When we inquired about preordering it, we were simply denied partly because the pastry chef was going on a vacation. So at this stage we just decided to walk out.The restaurant had new and trendy decorations. We were wearing cocktail attires but it was way too warm for what we were wearing. At the end of our dining experience, we were either too inebriated or too toasted to think straight.Overall the experience was like dealing with a host family that wanted you out the moment you walked in. It certainly refreshed our memory about our previous experience with Cenadou when we called to see if we could walk in to use the bar but were turned away. It was our first and most likely our last experience there.

Amazing food (we had anchovies, foie gras, wagyu beef sharing plate with gratin potatoes and salad) - all delicious. Warm, fun, friendly service. Knowledgeable, fun and committed sommelier brought us his suggested wine, which was spot on. Highly recommended.

Sea bass for two was great main dish. Sardines on toast starter was superb. They need French beers on the menu.

We were looking forward to dining at the new Cenadou French restaurant in North Salem after seeing them recently featured in Westchester magazine. As you enter the new contemporary style bar area, you are greeted with warm smiles. Turning to the left , you will enter their small sleek dining room which has a busy open kitchen towards the back. For starters: We commenced with the silky melt-in-your-mouthHouse-made Duck Foie gras with Pear -- Awesome !For entrees:- Steak au Poivre vert avec pommes frites - cooked perfectly to order.- Roasted Crescent Duck breast - with parsnip puree, mission figs Au jus-was absolutely sublime.Only complaint: the acoustics of the room are very loud as the room fills. Hopefully they will figure out how to muffle the noise so you can converse comfortably.*Excellent wine & cocktails list *** Lovely, efficient and friendly servers ****It is so good to finally enjoy French cuisine in the Westchester area!! **Bon appétit !

I got wind of this new chic French restaurant opening in The North Salem Post and finally got a chance to experience Cenadou after their long awaited grand opening. Their Resy time slots tend to fill up the week of, but I was able to snag a Saturday night dinner reservation a few weeks prior. Once there, we were seated immediately and the overall experience was lovely. The interior space is beautiful with a kitchen window view in the back of the dining space. We ordered the devilled eggs and chickpea parisses for the table. The eggs were light and bouncy with a creamy center and a flakey, salty crumble of grated bottarga (fish roe) on top. The chickpea parisses were delicate and soft with a light tomato-y aftertaste. I shared the mushroom risotto and steak frites. The risotto was cozy and just salty and savory enough with an al dente bite. The steak was nicely seared and the fries were perfectly addictive. The dessert, just like everything else, was thoughtful and delicious. The Profiterole is essentially an ice cream sandwich covered in chocolate sauce and a crunchy top. The Ile flottante was an airy marshmallow in cream with bits of crunchy nutty toffee. *Chef's kiss*

This is a great addition to the restaurant choices in our little town of North Salem. The service can be a bit quicker but I understand that the cost of staffing can sometimes affect the decision to hire more servers to work the busy hours when they really only have a few hectic window of opportunity. The food is a nice French intro. Unpretentious and straightforward good food, that what it is. The price is a slightly on the expensive side, though. But overall, they deserve a big welcome and peeps can be more supportive than anything else at this early stage of their journey.
