My family has been getting our orange chocolate from Platter’s since they were located in their basement shop. When we moved to Florida in the 70’s my Mom’s friends mailed it to us. When we were all back living in NY my sister and I and our children visited every year with our Mom at the Oliver St location until she passed away in 2003. If you're not from this area, be warned - a "small" ice cream is still 5x larger than anywhere in the Midwest. I used to live here and I had forgotten. So, we ended up with a lot more ice cream than we expected before I got smart and began ordering the baby sizes. This was a fun place to visit. Great for meeting friends. Great chocolate! Beautiful, display, store and factory. Huge selection. This was an experience. Lots of fun. They've got dining in. Lots of seating. Lokked like a cafe separate but adjacent to the store and factory. TVs, a fireplace. Stunning architecture at the Wurlitzer in North Tonawanda. Plenty of parking. Very well managed. Outstanding service. On top of all that there's beer breweries on both sides of the store. It's really amazing!
