boy oh boy what a treat! hardly any pictures because I ate it too fast. the customer service is spot on, I was even lucky enough to meet the owner / chef. I had the burata and tomato appetizer which was devine. my burger was cooked perfectly medium, even the flavor of the pickle had thought put into it. the fries... I can't even begin. our dessert was the heath bar creme brulee and the cheese plate, personally recommended by the owner. our Bartender was knowledgeable and very sweet. this is what date nights should be. get there early! reservations are a must! absolutely worth every penny!

Lovely wait staff and charming hostess who suggested Pattiserie across the street for dessert and where we returned for breakfast the next day, fabulous choices there! Brussel sprouts were so good and fried chicken were very tasty.

Can we just say, wow! What a meal we enjoyed at Communal last night. I had their infamous roasted brussels which were absolutely amazing as usual and tried the Korean sweet potato special which was divine. My husband had the octopus and the ahi tuna which he said were both cooked perfectly and I had the Farro chopped salad, so fresh and delicious. The portions were all gigantic so it was hard to fit in our drinks, espressos and two desserts but everything was so delicious we made it happen! The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was warm and cozy.We will definitely be back, this was one of the best meals we’ve had in years. Thank you!

Craft cocktails are insanely good. That the food is just as inventive, is a huge plus.Add to that a knowledgeable and responsive bartender, how could it not be 5 star!!!Only thing I would change is the TV has a blackboard over it. (lol). But we are understandably in the minority, sports fans AND fine dining connoisseurs.

Hiked over the river for a dinner with another couple. This was my first time at Communal and I was glad we came! Ambiance lent itself to this type of small group gathering. Not too noisy but humming. Food well prepared and tasty. Great addition to Nyak.

Went to Communal Kitchen today and was really disappointed. The website mentions Happy Hour 5-7 Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday and their was a sign outside that said happy hour Monday-Sunday 5-7. Walked in and stated we were there for happy hour. The hostess rudely dismissed us saying that was only Wednesday and Thursday. When I informed her that the sign outside says Monday-Sunday and the website says Sunday as well she stated “I don’t know why he put that. It’s wrong.” Seems like she just didn’t want to serve us. Very disappointed with this unwelcome welcome after such stellar reviews. I hope the owners knows about this.

Came with 4 adults and a child requiring a high chair. Very accommodating, knowledgeable about the menu, and had wonderful customer service. Casual, but intimate atmosphere that promotes conversation and with food that is delicious. Can't say enough good things, we will definitely be back!

Tried Communal Kitchen for the first time recently while some friends were visiting. The place has a cool chill vibe and we were sat immediately. CK has a great menu of fun cocktails and the 4 of us tried a few- all delicious and freshly made. We decided to share a bunch of small places, all delicious! We shared the cheese special, black bean hummus, octopus, and cauliflower. All were amazing! The guys also shared the Philly Cheese Steak Taco which they really enjoyed. Our server was patient and kind and gave great recommendations. All is all 5 stars for the night of food, atmosphere and friends! Can't wait to return!

Awesome Service. Shout out to our Waitress Christina for being super attentive and personable. The Brussels Sprouts with toasted almonds and chili glaze was 5 stars (the rice puffs were unnecessary but for the price, adding bacon, pork belly or pancetta would have fit the bill) Bread Basket : the basket came with a variety of breads - focaccia, white bread, sweet bread with nuts and berries, sizable portion but the bread itself was dry / mediocre... 3 dips - duck fat and maple cream butter, white bean hummus and chili oil ... all of which were delicious. Both apps came were sizable portions. Mains: Buttermilk & Pickle Brined Fried Chicken : came with two rather small boneless pieces (boneless wasn't advertised or we prob wouldn't have ordered it). Fried perfectly. The collard greens were undercooked, too vinegary and could've used some fat. The cornbread was tasty but dry. The hot honey on the plate sort of drenched everything leaving the whole dish with this one note smokiness. Ck Burger : the description sounded phenomenal, the burger however, lackluster. The meat was dry and lacked flavor. You could taste that it was previously frozen. Advertised with "truffle cheese" which we didn't taste. Came with fries which were fine. They had a decent beer selection - the stone hazy ipa was good. Overall disappointed with the food here. The prices reflect a higher quality than what was served.

This is nice restaurant with a chill vibe and a minimalist style. They change the menu often so there's always something new to try. Get the specials, you'll won't regret it. The food is to die for. It's no fuss, simple ingredients, yet packs a punch with flavor. I haven't tried a single dish I didn't like. Oh and their cocktails are addicting!!!

The food and drinks here are amazing. Actually everything about this place is amazing. If you're in or near Nyack then try this place. We got the brussel sprouts (best I've ever had hands down). You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the drinks are incredible.
