Houser’s Bar is a Fire Island favorite! The outdoor area is excellent, it’s spacious, lively, and perfect for enjoying a drink in the sun. Speaking of drinks, their Rocket Fuel is top notch and definitely worth trying.
Inside, you’ll find pool tables and a more laid-back vibe, making it a great spot whether you’re looking to relax or keep the night going. Always a fun time at Houser’s!

Great time! Right on the water, our waitress Rach was The Best, the avacado bites were amazing, and the lobster roll was only $20 and stuffed with lobster goodness. Highest recommendations!

This place was filthy. I walked in and we got to the table and there were cups and spillage all over, and the table was very sticky. It only gets worse…the waitress charged us up for things we didn’t even ask for and the cups and water were dirty. Then then worst part…the food comes and it was all frozen food. The fries were yellow. And the chicken was disgusting… it was like I was chewing on plastic. Please don’t go here if you would like to see another day on this earth! Oh and they need to hire staff

We went in there with a group of girls for my friend’s bachelorette party and I purchased 2 drinks for myself and the bride to be and it was $40. I made a comment about the price to the bar tender and he put his hand in my face and was so incredibly rude. Mind you, I paid it but having never been to fire island I was just very surprised. The bar tender proceeded to be rude so I took the cash tip I originally put down for him, off the table. I told him because of how he was acting I was taking it away and I drank my drink at the doorway near security. I wanted to finish my $20 drink. I removed myself from the volatile and hostile man. The security guy apologized and was kind. While I was standing there trying to finish my drink, calmly, minding my business, the rude bar tender came outside to tell the security guy that I had taken his cash tip off the bar and to kick me out. He was yelling and waving his arms around like a crazy person. That man had some serious issues and I was scared he was out of control. I explained it was my own tip I took off the bar because he was extremely rude. The security guy apologized again and allowed me to finish my drink and my friends and I left. We will never go there again because the drinks are expensive but more importantly the bar tender was extremely rude, out of line, out of control and really put a damper on our fun night out. I hope that establishment fires him for his inappropriate behavior.

We were a group of twelve, and aside from the pricey but delicious lobster, our dining experience left much to be desired. The tacos, lobster roll, chicken fingers, and other dishes were all disappointingly subpar. Furthermore, the drinks were noticeably diluted, and to make matters worse, we discovered a hair in one of them. Regrettably, our concerns regarding the hair were not addressed by the waitress, as it remained on our bill. While I could go into more details, I'll choose to remain courteous.

French fries were good. Scenery was nice. Drinking water was disgusting and filled with bugs. Zippy cooler was whatever. Hopefully never have to go back.

Get a Zippy (light ice) and the lobster mash. The lobsters are so fresh and the corn is so sweet. Housers is great anytime. But, If you can, go on off hours to get the best food and service.

Really good place for drinks. We did not eat here but, but got really good drink. if you are here when they are super busy, don’t expect grade A service. It’s not a bad thing, they just get busy and they really try to do there best to serve everyone, but it’s a party scene at times. They really do a good job of trying to get to you, but if your rude then you will get served on their time. Just be chill with them and kind. And I promise they will make your drink strong for you ;). Everyone we spoke with was super chill and down to earth. Highly recommend the zippy drink!!

Worst establishment! My wife and I were meeting our friends for dinner at 7:30PM. The kitchen closed at 8PM and we arrived at 7:40PM to be told that the kitchen had already closed. Our friends already ordered a few minutes before we arrived and we pleaded with the waitress to place an order with theirs to be told coldly, no. The manager was no more helpful or empathetic. He belligerently yelled at my wife and said there was nothing he could do even though the kitchen, right behind him, was busily cooking food. No excuse, no way to treat people. Avoid at all costs.
