One of the better restaurants on Fire Island. The food is delicious and portion sizes are very generous, even if you have a big appetite like myself, you will not leave hungry. The Wedge Salad, BBQ Ribs, and Chicken Parmesan are particularly good.

DJ SUCKS!!! he played good music for a while then changed it to cruddy tired washed up club remixes. very bad! and nobody was dancing. watched several people ask him politely to change the music or a request and he was extremely rude and turned them down. the music was so bad we left early. drinks and bar tenders where INCREDIBLE <3

Wish I did not have to write this after coming here for so many years…when given the chance to make up for the exact same poor experience others have been writing, it is most helpful to just say do not expect your meal or time to be as enjoyable as everywhere else we went this week. Screw ups can happen and they did nothing to rectify.

The worst experience I have ever had. First the waitress took forever when we first sat down. We ordered our meals there were 6 of us. After waiting over an hour we complained to the waitress and we were told it’s coming this is after watching 5 other tables being served even after being seated after us. We complained again not even being asked if we would like water or another drink. Well the waitress came with a partial meal for two of us and proceeded to know over a glass of water onto my wife and all we got was I’m sorry well at two hours there was still one meal missing we then asked for the manager and voiced our displeasure with the service and how rude the waitress was well as expected the manager was no help at all. Not even I’m sorry or comp a meal which at that time was still missing even thou it was a simple burger and fries. Do yourself a favor and do not go to this resturant the worst staff and what food we did get was not that good !!!!!

What happened to Matthew’s!? We used to love coming here but the food was not great today. Everything tasted like it was either from a can or pre frozen. And very expensive. It’s not worth it anymore…sadly.
Great place with deck seats. We always coming in big groups and they managing to seat us all together with no problems. Food is served quickly, unfortunately the menu doesn’t offer wide selection of dishes but everyone can find something to their taste

Parking: No cars to the island. Only frequent Ferry rides. We went on a Tuesday, and there was easy, secure parking lots at Fire Island Ferry Station. Absolutely, no issues.

First day, arrived and went to Mathews for a sunset drink, then went back later the folliwing wek and had the fresh shucked clams and fried calamari. delicious.
Mathews is a great local restaurant and seafood market at the end of the town. Great bar and service. Friendly to the 10th degrees. views of the bay and boats are relaxing.
