We went to The Sand Bar on 8-3-25 to celebrate my cousin’s birthday, and while we were there, we spent $110 on shots and drinks. Not even 10 minutes into being inside the bar, security allowed one of their friends to come in with a fire extinguisher and start spraying it throughout the bar and directly on people eating and drinking.
This is extremely toxic — inhaling the chemicals from a fire extinguisher can cause respiratory issues — and our drinks, which we paid for, were completely ruined. The staff made no effort to stop the person or to address the situation.
This is unacceptable, unsafe, and highly unprofessional. Not only did we lose money on our drinks, but our health and safety were put at risk. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone.

The Sandbar is an absolute must when you’re on Fire Island. They serve up the best Rocket Fuel around they’re dangerously good! The atmosphere is unbeatable, with a laid-back beach vibe that keeps you hanging out longer than planned.
Add in great live music and it’s the perfect spot to kick back, relax, and enjoy the island. Can’t wait to go back!

I really liked the Ocean Beach FI Sand Bar. The staff were so accommodating. The food was good and the drinks were made so well.
The two bands we stayed for were excellent. We will be back soon!

Went hear today for the first time to see Jimmy and the Parrots. Our waitress was on point and very sweet. Checked in on us, but not too much. The music was outstanding, but we knew it would be considering we’ve seen them before. Owner was present and very hands-on to make sure that everyone was having a great time. The owner and waitress were nice enough to buy us a shot before leaving, thank us for coming, and letting us know that bringing in great quality musicians was a priority. Even the bouncers and guys that worked the door very friendly and accommodating, and had a great conversation with them upon leaving. Shout out to Mike! Vanilla with chocolate sprinkles! It’s clear that a lot of time and effort is put into the details ranging from the food, the quality of the music, and the way the place looks and feels. Will definitely be going back and would highly recommend it as a must see if you visit Ocean Beach, Fire Island.
