One thing I have to say about Meta - it's consistently good, no matter what you order. There were 4 of us for dinner and 2 had the fish special which was very good. Another wanted shrimp oreganata which was not on the menu but they made it for her; and instead of charging a crazy upcharge for making it special, charged as though she had shrimp parm. Wait staff was always right there if we needed something. They weren't standing over us but they watched to see if we were ready for the next course and didn't rush us through. We ate on the earlier side for a Saturday night (got there a few minutes before 6:00) and there weren't a lot of tables filled. By the time we left there was not one table empty. And with all those people, we never had to shout to hear each other. The noise level was very good. I'd call Meta a "neighborhood gem" because I don't know that people would travel great distances to eat there, but if you're in southwest Nassau County, definitely try them.

The food is delicious and came out in time (not too long of a wait). The service boys were quiet, but polite. We had to ask for water refills, and no one asked if we wanted another wine, or cocktail (which is fine). Our waiter was friendly but made one of the people in our party feel uncomfortable with some "snarky" comments.. Not that I'd expect it, but what was if for them to bring a few biscotti with our coffees? We not only supported the restaurant well, but left a very generous tip.; not even a mint. Many restaurants do so as a courtesy and appreciation for our patronage.

Have been to Meta many times. I hate to say but the food has not been what it used to be.' Very poor presentation. I had roast chicken and it was a tiny leg and thigh thrown on a plate with broccoli. The chicken was dry. It seems like each time I go lately I see a decline. Bread is dinner rolls from a package. See less people also.

For New Years Eve, they did a good job. Overall food was good. Service was hustling. Food came out before we finished apps...not good. Had it held, so it was a little cold. Eggpland parm was bland. Room was freezing cold.
