We had the absolute pleasure of dining in this sweet little diner, and as a couple travelling a long way from home (Scotland, UK), we were welcomed into a proper home-from-home, family-feel spot.
Jon, our host, was an absolute gem! funny, comical, and full of good banter, mate! He had us in stitches and filled our hearts with joy. Honestly, we’ve never had service as warm and genuine as we had here. His gorgeous (braw) partner was just as lovely, a total doll, like a mother from another, so kind and caring. And her cooking? Pure belter! Her meatballs were bloody quality, and that buffalo soup had the right kinda kick to it!
Since we’re from another land and hadn’t a clue about the salad seasonings, they gave us tasters and samples, along with bites from the buffet. The fried shrimp felt like a munch straight from home, and the ranch sauces were banging!!
If you’re after cracking food, belly laughs, and the kind of chat that makes you feel like you’ve known folk forever, this is the place. You won’t just leave fed; you’ll leave feeling part of the family. Big thanks as well for the subs and meatballs to take away, what a treat to top off an adventure to celebrate our anniversary we’ll never forget!

While traveling on a great American road trip, we were able to experience this unique gem. Valentines is a very sweet unassuming and welcoming restaurant. We ordered the pierogi, sausage, and potato pancakes. Chefs Kiss! Pierogi was made by hand as you order, tender overfilled and mouthwatering. Pancakes and sausage on point. I only wish that this restaurant was closer to us by 500 miles. The owners were so gracious and welcoming. Well worth the drive and have an empty belly when you get there! Yum!

Tried going here last summer. Basically showed up right as lunch was ending and the owner or manager basically shut the door right in our faces and said sorry we are closed come back at 4pm for dinner. Not a care in the world he was turning away business. Tried going here last night 8/29 again. Online shows they are open at 4. Go over at 4:15 and the lights are off and sign says they are closed. Sorry but two strikes and you’re out of here. Would never eat at this place after these two incidents. If you don’t care about me as a customer then I’ll take my money somewhere else that wants it.
The menu we were provided did not offer any of the variety/items we expected as shown in previous google reviews. We decided were ok with that until we received our food. I wish we had photo’d that menu and food but did not. we ordered the Polish Sausage and Pioroge (sp) meal for $15. The sausage tasted like Hillshire Farms on the grill - about a 6 inch section cut up into one inch pieces, 3 pieroge were ok. Polish Beer would have been good if was cold. Best feature was the outside. maybe the food is better in the off season or maybe they just recently lost their chef?

Great food and the nicest owners. Food is fresh, tasty, and really good. Had a good selection of drinks. Portions are big. Wish we lived closer to go again.

Authentic Polish food. We both got the Polish platter for lunch. Indoors, this is a small quaint restaurant with large portions. The weather did not permit us to sit outside on their large patio. The food and service were excellent. Good conversation with the staff. We'll be back soon. I highly recommend you stop by Valentines.

Outstanding. The owners are so sweet and personable. Everything was made from scratch which is awesome. I follow their page on Facebook where they always post fun speciality items. Tonight was a German themed dinner. On the plate below is potato pancakes, pork schnitzel, creamed cabbage, beef rouladen, and buttered spaetzle. I definitely want to go back in the summer where they have outside dining right on the water. The owners even surprised us with free dessert. Definitely planning to come back.

The decor inside pales compared to the beauty outside, but it kinda can't be helped. The food was very good, especially since they have a Monte Cristo on the menu!

We went here to eat based on the great reviews and positive hear say about the food, unfortunately our experience was not great . We ordered appetizers and my husband’s pretzels were very hard way overdone, I ordered deep fried veggies and my onion rings were literally black - way overcooked. I let our waitress know she said she would let the cook know. For our meal we both ordered chicken fingers, I’m not a ( Karen) complainer about my food but one bite of the chicken fingers and I knew it wasn’t right so I did not eat anymore. My husband said his tasted weird too but he doused them in hot sauce and thought maybe it was the oil they used. When we arrived home after dinner my husband was so sick he couldn’t stay out of the bathroom.
Needless to say our food was awful . It may have just been an off day but unfortunately at our expense. Which was a 70.00 meal waste of money. On the positive side they did give my husband pierogie to try.

Absolutely wonderful food the Pierogi platter was as authentic as they come & their funnel cake fries were a delicious treat after ! It is a family restaurant which I feel other patrons should consider when it comes to wait times as their food and services was worth it,we can’t wait to come back !
Kid-friendliness: My picky 8 year old finished her meal (corn dog & fries) which doesn’t happen often, she won crayons at the Duck pond game next door and asked for paper and the waitress brought a whole drawing pad out for her !

Lets talk about service, and also food.
The soup&their gumbo was good. Waited about 15 mins to get out drinks after we waited ten to give our order, so that's 25 mins. Salad was good.
The pierogi platter, well to be honest the pierogi filling fell flat. No seasoning, dough was good.
Noodles were dry and hard, sausage was just that, sausage. I asked for a box when the check was dropped, still waiting... Have waited over 20 mins on just a box and to pay the check.
I know something was off, even though I've never been here, but dang.

Our second visit tonight at Valentine's on the Lake was awesome, as was the first visit. Great home made food done to order. The owner's Cheryl and John are super nice people and take pride in their food preparation, while making sure you have a positive fun experience. Forgot about dining at a chain restaurant with no personality, at Valentine's it's like dinning with friends who care about you. We'll be back again soon!
