Unfortunately we did not even get to try to the food. The second we walked in we had gone and sat at a table (we did not look up and see the please wait to be seated sign) silly us. But we are first timers to old forge. My self and my partner along with our two girls( all half African American I am Caucasian.) and being that only two tables were filled we just sat down in the booth. A young man server was eyeing my husband from the second we walked in. I sat down fine with our oldest but after he walked in with the baby the mood shifted. He walked up to the table and stated “I would appreciate it if you don’t seat your self, the sign is right there” and pointed up. I said well we are first timers I do apologize we didn’t see. He said “well yea don’t see your self, pay attention to the signs. We decided to get up and walk out and on the way out I said that is not how you provide service to customers in a tourist area. He said in a snobby voice “what do you mean ugh” I said it’s clear you’re not fond black individuals because it was not a problem until he walked in. The owners girl-friend came out and apologized (she was amazing omg I wish she came to me first and I’m so sad she didn’t) we were so excited to try. Very unfortunate. But owners girlfriend. You get 5 stars.

So my wife an I got the heart attack bowl let's just so wow from the size of eggs home fries ham sausage gravy biscuit peppers an toast friendly staff no wait time got right in an sat down food came out wicked everyone loved their food an well be back for sure

I enjoyed everything about Keyes. The pecan waffle was delicious. My main reason for the review was the note on the menu. Prices are listed for credit cards. A discount will be given for cash. This is so much nicer than adding a surcharge for credit cards. Traveling with cash is not something most people do. The surcharge feels like a penalty where a discount for cash gives the transaction a more positive feeling. Good job!

Breakfast was great, pancakes were delicious and big, place was kind of full for only 2 employees but staff were very polite and doing their best to accommodate every one, a liitle bit of a wait but very understandable. Will definitely recommend this place.

We had a wonderful experience breakfast restaurant from start to finish. greeted and sat quickly followed by prompt service by our kind waitress. The menu was quite extensive with many choices for all ages. The food came quickly and lots of coffee refills in between. The manager even came out to make sure all was good. Highly recommend. We will be back when we are in old forge
