The owner/manager was rude and made statements that left a real bad taste. His attitude was a complete turnoff. It's a shame that a beautiful cafe experience was ruined by poor hospitality.

This restaurant is not only gorgeous, but very tasty as well. It’s located inside the Old Westbury Gardens so the cafe is surrounded by old growth forests and the worlds most beautiful plants. The cafe has a selection of pastries, sandwiches, salads, drinks, and desserts to choose from. They are a little on the pricy side, but completely worth it for their quality. The ingredients are ridiculously fresh and well balanced, nothing in the dish is out of place. The drinks are cold, refreshing, and handmade, but probably too tart for children or those with a sweet tooth (I thought it was perfect for the hot weather though). The staff is kind and has plenty of recommendations, they even saved the bag I accidentally left and placed it behind the counter for safe keeping. Overall, this place is a must stop if you’re in the garden and it’s worth coming into the garden even just to eat. I will definitely be coming back here again.
Vegetarian options: The vegetarian options were not an oversight at all, they were well thought out and just as complete as the rest of the menu.

Food is usually decent but the owner’s attitude is a complete turnoff. I hope that the Gardens (which we attend regularly) do not renew their contract. We were not the only family that was disappointed with the service and the surly attitude. I personally do not want to patronize their establishment here or in Rockville Center any longer.

This is my third visit to this amazing treasure on the grounds of the Old Westbury Gardens. Food and coffee were exceptional. The breads and sweets are baked at their bakery in RVC. Place is immaculate and service is very friendly! Prices were fair. Highly recommend!

Not open during posted hours. Sign claims they’re open 10-5 on all days except Tuesday, but we came here at 2:30 on a Sunday and they were closed. It was raining a bit, but if you close due to inclement weather, you need to have a sign explaining that and mention it online.

Cafe in the Woods is a true gem and wonderful place for a delicious lunch, or hot beverage and dessert. We had the sheer pleasure of sitting outside under the trees today and enjoying a most wonderful and delicious sandwich and salad. Great care and pride is taken in making each patron’s meal. This was such a wonderful treat to eat here today.
