First time dining here and sorry to report we had a very disappointing lunch. The beef hash was AWFUL and my husbands pork wrap was bad too. Our waitress saw that we barely ate our meals and when we declined her offer for a to-go box, she never asked if our meals were ok. Left disappointed and hungry. Won’t be returning!!!

Beautiful oak woodwork and decor make for a warm, inviting setting to have a great meal. The French onion soup was wonderful! The beef on weck was a different style than expected but might appeal more to some diners. Instead of thinly sliced beef in au jus on the kimmelweck (salt) roll, here they served a mountain of sliced beef on the weck roll but without the extra juice, making for a hearty but a bit dry meal.

WE had the beef and kummelwick sandwich and a wedge salad. They were both AMAZING!! The blue cheese dressing was so good!! Our parents had the parmasian haddock and the broccoli cheddar soup. We shared a piece of the carrot cake for dessert. I’d come back here in a heart beat!! The beef was to die for!!!! Loved this meal so much!!! Our waitress was efficient, friendly and so great. If HIGHLY recommend…too bad 4 starts is all I can give it

Every time I would visit my dad, the family would go to Beef and Barrel. He passed away in 2023. This place holds so many great memories with him. If I come to the area, I order what he would have and my husband, kids and I talk about my dad! Beef and Barrel is forever part of my family’s life.
We have dined here for many years and have never had a bad meal. Our meal and service was horrible. My husband ordered ravioli which was ice cold. Our server never returned to our table to inquire as to how our meal was, instead I had to flag another server to advise our meal was unacceptable. My husband's meal was replaced with another plate of cold ravioli! By now my beef is ice cold and the onion rings which were as limp as a dead weed where also ice cold! Okay our meal was comped but we didn't drive over an hour for a free meal....we came for a good meal without feeling like a freeloader! We won't be returning.

Excellent choice for lunch or dinner. We stopped for lunch, and they had many wonderful specials. I had the sweet potato stuffed with pulled pork , cheddar cheese, and scallions. It was excellent. We also had onion rings as an appetizer, wings on special, and a burger. Our waitress was excellent and shared some history about this place. The atmosphere was elegant, the food was outstanding, and an excellent choice for lunch with friends. We will definitely be back.
